We finally got the trash out this morning.? How long had it been?? Weeks.? Nice to have finally gotten it out there though.? It’s funny, the garbage is coming earlier and the mail is coming later.? Explain that one to me?? That is helpful to NO ONE. :sigh

Anyhow.

Not much going on today.? Just trying to eek out until some shopping tomorrow.? We got some coupons from Albertson’s in the (late) mail today, so K is down getting a couple of things with my PayPal card.? The first page of coupons expires today, hence the rush.

I had canned spaghetti for lunch and H had more of the dinner rolls as sandwiches.? For dinner we had tuna helper and canned peas so we’re not doing too bad.? I did run out of juice earlier and boy, do I miss it.

I dind’t get the update out last night, but I did manage it this morning.? I’ve gotten one sub today from that.? Nothing too shabby!

I made some anti-Bush blinkies today too. ;)? Just the thing.? Also, started another set for my next update.? Another kitchen, of course.? Gonna try to finish that tomorrow.? But tomorrow is going to be a big day so we’ll see.? New Years Eve.? I can remember New Years past where we did some serious shopping.? Well, I’ll be doing some shopping, but it’ll be of the grocery variety.

Mmm…? I just had a waffle and a glass of juice.? That’s the stuff.? I love how all the coupons were for breakfast items.? We’re going to watch some of the Two Towers special features.? We just hadn’t gotten around to it yet, and now is the time.

Damn, I’m going to be shopping alone tomorrow. :(? I think I’ll just get what I have to get and we can do a bigger trip on Thursday.? Now that’s a good idea.? Now, back to the Two Towers commentary.

Sorry for the delay in posts there.? Saturday was NUTS.? Just plain nuts from when we got up onwards.? I will admit to being a little extra sensitive that day.? I was tired, H was having accident after accident.? So I was stressed.? P got a little snipey and I started to bawl (again).? I just wanted to go home.? I settled down, but the feelings remained.

But the family party went well.? Well, everyone was over an hour late and we were STARVED but mom wouldn’t let us eat.? They both (R&J and B&S, my dad’s cousins and their wives) brought H presents, which was nice.? And it was nice seeing everyone.? K was indispensible with the dinner and my mom was hurting so he got the dinner on for her.? She was really appreciative of that.

Angela came over in the evening so we could exchange gifts.? Of course, she loved the Pink Ladies shirt I gave her (she thought we were very sneaky in getting it after Thanksgiving).? She gave us an Alice CD and a snowglobe.? Very thoughtful. :) That night, everyone wanted to play Tripoley and I had NO idea and was so pooped that I just went to bed.? Besides, at that point, the less of my family the better.

The next morning started early, about 5:45.? But we had some good motivation.? K got hte van all loaded up and we had some breakfast.? Everyone was up to see us go, but it was too cold to walk us out ot the car.? We were lucky in that we were getting over the mountain ahead of some nasty weather.? There was more traffice than usual, but nothing horrible.? We stopped in Colfax to stretch, potty and get some refreshments.? There was a lot of snow on th emountain.? Must have had some doozy storms.? Really cold too.? East of Truckee it was 17 degrees and that was nearly at noon.? It was considerably warmer in Reno, however.

After lugged in our bags and assured Shadow we had missed him very much, we went out.? I thought maybe we could look at some sectionals.? Perhaps I was being foolish.? We went over to McMahons, to see what they had.? What they had was a big January sale and a ton of sectionals.? Not to mention in-store financing.? But, I don’t think K ever intends to get one.? I really don’t.? How long has it been now?? It’s time to give up the ghost.

So I was a bit disappointed by that.

Oh, and I forgot my pills in San Jose. :roll Now how stupid is that?? I called Rite Aid and they gave me a pill and were going to call the insurance company today.? That was really nice of them. Apparently, the insurance company wouldn’t pay for another script so soon (bastards!).? Figures.? But thank god for Rite Aid.? They figured I need 10 pills to get through till the 7th (when they WILL pay for the prescription).? So they offered to sell me 10 pills which comes out at the non-RX price of $5 anyhow.? That was *really* nice of them, and a lot more than Safeway would have done.? So I felt very grateful for that.

I put out a freebie update last night and shock of shocks, I got two subs from it!? Go figure.? I got another update ready for tonight/tomorrow.? But I may have to do more free things.? It was kinda fun.? Who knows what will happen to my site in the future?? We are so low on groceries.? :(? Wednesday cannot come soon enough.? We may just eek by.? I wish our Walmart would be open by then but I have my doubts!

Happy Friday!? It’s also Boxing Day and all the letdown associated with that.? Christmas was good.? Dysfunctional, but good.? All kinda pooped out while watching Christmas Vacation.? Just a long, long day.? We slept in this morning, as much as I have all week at least.? 8 am or so.? H slept with K all night and actually was up and out before us this morning.? That was a first.

But morning was pretty chaotic.? We decided to hit the road, and none too soon.? We headed over to Meriwest first, to cash our Christmas check.? Then to Best Buy to spend our gift card from Jenn.? We decided on a dvd and eventually picked out “Bowling for Columbine”.? It’s a classic.? We poked around the Expo Design Center for a while too.? Wow, talk about fancy.? Too rich for our blood. ;)? Then, onto the mall! It was lunchtime so we headed for lunch and on the way I was shanghaied for a demo manicure. :P? Then it was time for California Pizza Kitchen.? Mmm…? We shared a Sicilian Pizza and I had some Potato Leek soup that was fabulous.

We let H play around in the playtown area before we did a little shopping.? I got a calendar (50% off!) and we got H some jammies and a winter coat at Children’s Place.? By then I was pooped out so we came back home.? But it had been good to be out and away for a change.

Dangit, I keep forgetting to take my pills.? That’s NOT good.? Now I’m gonna be all nervous until I feel some movement.

It’s been a while, we just finished watching “Bowling for Columbine” with the family.? Just as thought-provoking the second time.? I’m glad we got it.? And I still think something has to be done about this country and soon.

Oy VEY.? And a very merry Christmas to you too!

It’s been a day.

Let’s finish up yesterday first.? We went to the 7:30 mass.? My parents left first and we were going to follow, since we had two impatient children.? We got there around 7:15 or so.? The row we were in was reserved anyhow, because my dad was a lector.? Apparently, before we showed up, these people tried to sit in the seats my mom was holding for us.? And when told they were reserved, this lady remarked that it was unChristian.? Good LORD.? We made it through church, but jsut barely.? H was tired and so was V.? She eventually fell asleep.? But we made it through and home.? Whew!

We stayed up a while, just snacking and talking.? It was fun but by bedtime, I was really ready for bed.? I was pretty restless in the night.? Well, more towards morning.? By 7:15, we gave up.? Sadly, the holiday mood was in full swing by then.? P was ticked at mom’s obsessive cleaning and sort of took it out on K in fron tof H which played on my own set of hormones.? So I was crying and couldn’t stop myself. :P? Ugh.

Anyhow, the wonder of Christmas was alive in H.? He loved investigating his stocking or “boot sock” as he called it.? And utterly thrilled to open his presents from Santa.? We got everyone assembled and worked on the presents as best we could.? We had to take a break halfway through for eats.? There was just too many presents.? I had a bagel with lox and it was mighty tasty.

We finally finished up with presents close to noon. :eek? Considering we started around 8 or earlier, that’s pretty scary.? We did pretty well.? H did VERY well, but I’m not going to go into it all.? There was too much.? Spoiled.? The excitement really freaked him out.? It wasn’t long before he had a meltdown. So I was feel drowsy and he obviously needed a nap.? I dragged him upstairs with me and we took a nap together for a while.

I woke up and the majority of everyone was downstairs playing cards, so I joined in.? That was a lot of fun, at least for a while.? Then it was time to pull the dinner together.? Then it was anarchy.

A good portion of that time was spent avoiding the kitchen, as a result.

There were incidents and various events but we got dinner done and it went well.? My nephew showed up at the tail end and K, H and I piled into the van and drove around to get out of the house.? Unfortunately, now we’re back. ;)
