Gosh, I really am a big ol’ slacker, aren’t I?? Let’s see…? Wednesday I finally went to do the GTT.? I decided to go in the morning, before lunch.? There’s a Lab Corp at 6th and Ralston, nearest to here.? So there I went.? I went around 10:30 or so, took H with me.? There was more of a wait than I expected.? H was kind of antsy.

About 11, a gal came and asked if anyone had any timed draws.? Of course, I did.? But she thought it was 12, not 11.? And they’re gone for lunch between 1 and 2.? But it worked out well for me. Turns out they didn’t have to take any blood initially.? I don’tk now what Dork Lady had been thinking.? She had me drink the stuff, which tasted just like Sprite.? I kid you not.? It was carbonated and everything.? Then it was wait an hour. The park was just a block away, so I took H there.? Of course, he loved it but he kept asking me about lunch and if we were going to eat with Papa.? I knew K had gone to CompUSA and didn’t know his schedule so I told H that we’d see.? But he had a good time going down all the slides.

We got back to LabCorp just in time and she took me back.? OMG, it was so easy.? She had no trouble finding a vein and I didn’t even feel the needle go in.? She got two vials, one for the GTT and one for my TSH.? And that was it.? Easy as pie.? After, we dropped by UNR.? K wasn’t in his office so we decided to wait.? There had been 38 minutes on the meter when we got there so it wasn’t costing me anything to wait.? I played around on the computer and killed time.? About 30 minutes later, I decided we had to go.? Boy, did that piss H off.? He was crying and carrying on.? I felt bad, but there wasn’t much I could do.? At the van, I offered to take him to lunch at McDonalds.? He was agreeable to that, as long as we ate there.? We actually had a nice lunch.? H ate more than he usually does and there were no major incidents.

After that, we stopped by ShopKo.? I had to get H more Tylenol.? He’s having more trouble with his teeth.
