The dust has settled…

by Marilyn on December 25, 2004

And the smoke has cleared. Santa has come and gone. The living room floor is littered with scraps and ribbons and tiny plastic pieces that I guarantee I will step on sometime today.

Christmas… IS OVER!! :cheer

Of course, if only it were that easy. We still have the family dinner today. FOURTEEN people in one little house. :run Check, please! Last night I had an honest to God panic attack when this house filled with sixteen people. I’m not looking forward to what wonderful things that will do to my psyche. :sigh But its nearly over and then I can retreat to my home and hide like a normal person.

It’s hard not to think about how I should have had a chubby little baby bouncing on my knee this morning. Last Christmas we had already started envisioning Jackson’s first Christmas and how fun it would be to introduce him to the world of lights, magic and peace. This year, we have an empty heart and sad memories.

Well, that’s not all we have. We have Harrison and I thank God each and every day for that.

Anywho, Merry Christmas Blogland. If you’re out there. I hope everyone is coping with the holiday well. :drunk
