Is there such a thing?

by Marilyn on January 8, 2005

Is there such a thing as too much snow? I’m hesitant to say there is, but when your husband has to SHOVEL THE ROOF, you starter to wonder, “Hmm… maybe we got too much snow.”

We were watching the 11 o’clock news this evening and promptly got freaked out by stories of structures all over town collapsing under the weight of the snow. That’s when we started to wonder about our covered porch. Unlike the rest of the house, all it really has to support it is a beam. So Mr Callista is leaning out the guest room window shoveling off the porch roof.

:blink

It’s just very surreal for this one-time California girl. That’s all I’m sayin’. I’ll post pictures tomorrow (of the snow, not of the shoveling. Even I’m not *that* mean.).

Hey there,
Why don’t you pass some of that snow down here to San Antonio, TX. I really miss that white stuff. But for your roof I hope the snow stops soon for you.

Would if I could, dear! Actually, I think most of the snow has left us…just windy right now which is making it drift up. Good for the roof though! Blow it off of there. :D

Ever since I moved to England, I was surprised how little snow there was here. Back in Switzerland we’d have 3 to 5 ft. I’m not a snow person at all. Beautiful layout btw :) Keep it up. Dropped by from BE.
