To introduce my new “Peevish” category, I’ve got some peeves to get off my chest.
- When driving, if you are in the “fast” lane (that’s the left hand lane, in case you were unaware) and you are not at least going the speed limit, that is false advertising. By being in the fast lane, you are saying to other vehicles, “I am a fast car!” and when you go the speed limit or slower, well that’s just justification for running you off the road. So don’t give me a dirty look when I pass you on the right after trailing behind you for a good mile or two. I gave you a chance to move over, sucka!
- Okay blogs, let’s get this out. When I’m doing my duty and surfing around on BE or BC, I don’t look at certain sites. And I don’t just mean the ultra-conservative rants either. I mean the sites that have so much *JUNK* cluttering up the top of the screen that with the BE or BC banner, I can’t even see any blog content without having to scroll down. I only scroll down if I see a photoblog or blog entry that catches my interest. But 10 different BE or BC or god knows what banners? That’s an instant cue to check another browser window until the 30 seconds is up. I don’t mean you shouldn’t have these handy little buttons or google ads on your site. I have plenty of buttons *and* google ads here but if you’ll notice, they are out of the way of what is truly important and that is my blog content. Take a note. I’m gonna start registering low ratings on BE if this keeps up.
- Snowplows that don’t plow the entire road piss me off. Seriously. While our road is not extraordinarily wide, it’s decent and one can usually park a vehicle on side of the street and there is plenty of room for two way traffic to pass. Well, with our abundance of white stuff lately, they only plowed a small portion of the street. Barely enough for two way traffic. Our driveway is now nearly twice as long, extending into what was one the street. Methinks someone with a plow just got lazy. On the otherhand, I suppose I should just be grateful that our street has been plowed at all as there are many streets in town yet to be plowed. Not to mention many people who haven’t had their garbage picked up in *three weeks*. Three weeks, people! And, to make matters worse, the garbage picker uppers are saying they won’t refund anyone for the lack of service for the month. :-x But I suppose that’s another matter for another rant.
Okay, I guess that’s enough bitching for one night. :)
