Have you heard of this? Keyhole is this software that you can either try out for free for seven days or purchase a one year license for. What does it do? It allows you to access satellite imagry of the planet. I can see you going :blink but trust me, it’s cool. For example, here are some of the fun things I did with Keyhole while I was so bored last night:
- See? Satellite imagry of our address. Okay, I do not live in a thicket of sagebrush. This photograph was taken in September of 2002, a good year and a half before our house was finished being built. Cool, no?
- This is actually where we were living when these photographs were taken. Chances are I was in the house, dinking away on my computer. So weird.
- And here is where K was when the pictures were taken. That’s where he works. Notice the parking lot of death to the north of the thumbtack and the lesser parking lot of death to the west. Now imagine those covered with ice and you know my joy this past week.
- For :shit’s and giggles, I had to “flyover” my parent’s house. These were taken in August of 2002. Depending on the day, we could have actually been visiting.
- Long way over the mountain. Showing the distance from our home to my parents. I know you care.
- In the interest in equality, the distance between our house and K’s parents. Longer mile-wise but the absence of…well, *anything* between here and there means it takes about the same amount of time to drive.

See? SOO much fun. Go try it out for yourself.

According to the keyhole website, they were recently acquired by Google so that wouldn’t surprise me.
Thanks for stopping by and for commenting!

I am going to check this out at work (but too onerous for dial up internet). Wonder if I can edit the image to create a river of boiling lava between my and my inlaws home.
