But even so, I can’t walk on it for at least another three weeks. But hey, that’s *up* three weeks from the initial estimate of six so that is definitely good news.
Today was my appointment to get my cast. But they saw the wonderful progress I’d been making and judged me to be the responsible sort (boy, did I fool them) and fitted me for this very stylish boot instead.
I think you’re going to see it on all the runways in Paris this spring. Mark my words. Now all I need are some adorable pink socks to wear under it.
The worst part of the appointment was getting my stiches out. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I didn’t take any vicodin today. So I went in there pain med free and that isn’t the optimal way to experience the removal of stiches. At least that’s what my experience taught me. Then they shuttled me in to x-ray to see how things were going. They had this machine near the doorway that looked like one of those old fashioned cigarette vending machines. The gal took the x-rays and after a series of whirrs and pings, out of the cigarette machine comes my x-ray. Wow! That is so cool.
Apparently my weeklong effort of keeping my leg elevated has worked because they decided to move me right into a boot instead of doing a cast first. And when I go back in three weeks, he’s going to evaluate and I may be able to start putting weight on it then. :woot Best news I’ve had in weeks! Plus, I got to look at the x-ray and see all the hardware in my ankle. Hoo-doggies. Am I ever gonna set off some metal detectors with that! Hard to believe all that is inside of my ankle. But then again, given the pain I’ve had this last week I guess maybe it isn’t.
So I’m feeling pretty darned good about all this. :) So good that I’m going to release another template tomorrow. Yeah yeah, a weekend of sitting on your butt with nothing better to do gives you plenty of time to stir those creative juices. I think you’ll all like this one, I myself am a big fan. This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
