Things are a-changin’ in this neck of the woods. I finally got up the nerve to get a new domain. My plan is to let simlair.com eventually phase out. But before that happens, I’m bringing in lilacpixels.com. I’ll try to make sure everything get transferred smoothly, but some of that will be beyond my control. Eventually this blog will be http://inconceivable.lilacpixels.com. This new change will also allow for hosting. I will be able to host people on the new lilacpixels.com domain and even allow add-on domains so this is very good news indeed!

So if there’s any hiccups or my blog disappears for a little while, this is why. Never fear! :)

I must preface this entry by saying, if you don’t watch Lost, you are missing out big time. That show is amazing. I know no other show on TV that makes you think you’re getting answers but instead you’re getting more questions. And you *like* it! Not saying I don’t love Desperate Housewives, which I do, but I think the best new show this year if not the best all around is Lost. WATCH IT.

So here’s my thoughts on last night’s totally bitchin’ episode. That whole dream with the plane and bloody Boone that Locke had? CREE-HEE-PY! And Locke’s so-called biological father? ASSHOLE. Boone finding that the radio in the ancient drug-running Nigerian plane still worked and actually get ahold of someone ON said radio? AWESOME. The voice on the other end saying Flight 815 had no survivors? WICKED. Locke beating his hands in frustration on the hatch only to have said hatch light up? FREAKING COOL! What the hell does that mean? What the hell does any of it mean? I don’t know but I LOVE it. LOVE. IT.

Yeah, the show was mostly predictable. I mean, I knew Locke’s dad was going to be an asshole (but silly me, I thought an accident during the surgery is what had paralyzed Locke. My bad.). And thanks to Locke’s prophetic dream, I knew Boone was going to become bloody Boone. (“What happened to Boone?!” “He was in a plane crash!” “Yeah, so? We all were.” “Yeah, but he was in another one!”) Will Boone live or die? I think he will ultimately die, because I had him pegged for the big finale death everyone keeps talking about. But isn’t that like episodes upon episodes away from now?

Anyhow, big :tu for an amazing episode as always. This show is MAD crack, I tells ya!

(oh, and I also watched Eyes last night and totally loved it too. I’m so ABC’s bitch.)

Wow. How awesome was The Amazing Race last night?? I’m still reeling from the 2 hour-long lovliness of it all. Here’s some of my thoughts on the show:

  1. Rob and Amber: Still :heart this team. I know there are a LOT of people out there who can’t stand them (including the Boyfriends), but you have to understand where I’m coming from with this. Do they deserve another million dollars? Probably not. But neither do I think they will win that million dollars. Are they fun to watch? Hell, yes. Anyhow, to the topic at hand: Yes, they should have at least paused when driving by the Brothers’ wreck and ask if everyone was okay. On the other hand, they could see Lynn and Alex had stopped to help and what more help could they be? I can’t stand the Boyfriends’ sanctimony on this one. You can’t tell me that if the wreck had involved Rob and Amber and someone had stopped to help them and the Boyfriends were driving past that they would have stopped. So they can just go ahead and get off that high horse right freaking now. I lose more and more respect for these guys every week.
  2. Meredith and Gretchen: I’m glad Gretchen was okay after her fall and all. That cut on her head definitely looked scary. And how did I love Meredith when he was so worried about her. I saw in those five minutes more evidence of how their relationship has survived the years than I have this whole season. I’m glad they weren’t eliminated. But I *knew* that was going to be an non-elimination leg. It was way past time for one. Taking away all their gear was HARSH, but I can understand why the producers added in that little “bonus”. I hope they don’t have to go to Siberia or anything. Oh, and Rob not wanting to give them money? That was pretty class-less.
  3. Uchenna and Joyce: I love this team more and more each week. How adorable are they?? I’m really rooting for them to win this thing, though I’d be happy if it were any of my three favorite teams (Romber, them and the Brothers). When they had to deliver the stuff to the children’s home, I thought to myself, “I want one!” and I knew they’d feel the same thing. It was so touching to see how much it affected them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t consider adoption that much more seriously when the race is through.
  4. Ron and Kelly: Ugh. This is one team I’m liking LESS and LESS all the time. I mean, they have their moments but I’m getting tired of Ron bringing up Iraq. And Kelly… my husband laughs at me but half the time all I can see is this enormous ass running across my screen. And I *know* she doesn’t have a big ass (I’m sure mine is bigger… :sigh), but it’s the clothes she wears that make it look five times larger than it is.
  5. Lynn and Alex: My dislike for this team grows each week. When they aren’t being infuriatingly unreasonable, they’re being sanctimonious and I can’t *stand* that. Comparing Soweto to Compton? Ugh.. :-P If they could stop bitching about Rob and Amber for five minutes and simply concentrate on their own game I’d eat my hat.
  6. Ray and Deana: Can’t say I’m sorry to see them go. While they weren’t insufferable during the first hour, his constant berating of her during the second hour drove me nuts. What an asshole. That combined with his constant dogging of Meredith and Gretchen as “old people” made my distaste grow to amazing proportions. This couple doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of ever getting anywhere together.
  7. Brian and Greg: I :heart :heart :heart these guys!! How adorable are they? Reading the clue as if it said to go home and get some of mom’s home cooking… tee! They’re goofy and not afraid to laugh at each other which is SO charming. And in the caves when they were harassing each other about being stuffed in a sleeping bag? LOVED! So cute. I was genuinely upset to see their accident (since I knew it was coming, thanks commercials, I kept yelling at the tv all night, “Wear your seatbelts!!”). And their poor, poor cameraman. Glad he’s okay. What a scary accident! I’m so glad they were able to come back from that, kick ass with the Water detour and totally whoop Ray and Deana in a footrace to the mat. I swear, my heart was in my throat, watching that ending. I wanted so badly for them to make it. ADORE these guys!

Okay, I think that’s all I have to rant about. Awesome ep. Love that show. And tonight? NEW Lost. :tu I am in heaven. :)

So I had a bit of difficulty yesterday with one of my submissions to Alex King’s Theme Competition. The Spring Fairy design that everyone has been so wonderful about and has enjoyed so much had to be removed from the competition. Someone wrote in that istockphoto.com would not approve of the use of one of their images in this manner. I had read the license agreement and will admit being confused. I thought the way I was using it was okay but apparently it wasn’t.

All that ugliness aside, I also removed the design from Lilac Pixels. So I’m afraid to say that it it’s not available for download any longer. If you would like me to custom create a theme for you similar to the Spring Fairy (different graphic) please email me at callistawolf@REMOVETHISsimlair.com. I will only charge $30 for a template redesign if you would like a theme laid out exactly like the Spring Fairy design or $60 for a custom blog design made from scratch. Thank you for your patience and sorry again. If you need to see what the Spring Fairy looks like, it is still available on my skin chooser in the sidebar.

I still have a design, albeit a less competitive one, in the competition so all is not lost. I’m trying not to let this discourage me. And I have learned that from now on *READ THE FINE PRINT*. It was a foolish and careless mistake and I’m embarassed as all hell about it. A *BIG* thanks to everyone who has supported me, especially Julianna, Kat and KJ for hiring me on to beautify their blogs. You gals are terrific inspiration to me. :)

Mistakes

I think there is some definite truth to this. Trust me when I tell you, read what I have written in this blog as a cautionary tale. Do not, under any circumstances, be me. I’m pretty sure I was cursed at birth.
