It has come to my rather surprised attention that I like bad music. More specifically? *Awesomely* bad music. Since Oprah is repeating this week (is she allowed to do that??), I fished for something else to watch and stumbled upon VH1’s “40 Most Awesomely Bad #1 Songs… Ever.” I probably wouldn’t have watched but I tuned in at #39 (yeah, they flipped the countdown and #40 is #1 and vise versa. Do the math.) and I thought, “But wait, I like that song!” and had to see the rest to see if this was a fluke. It wasn’t.
Some of my favorite songs were in there including “The Sign” by Ace of Base. Yes, yes… I know what you’re saying. But I was in high school and I *really* loved that song. Still makes me smile when I hear it. I will admit I didn’t care for any of the songs in the top five. Well, except for “That’s What Friends are For”. That was one of my first favorite songs ever and it was my best friend and I’s song. Aww.
Sadly, what it comes down to is that I liked more of the songs on that list than I *didn’t* like and that has me worried. Do I really have such horrible taste in music?
And if so, why hasn’t anyone told me?!

This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
