So I bit the bullet and entered Alex King’s WordPress 1.5 Theme Competition. After much fretting and fawning, I finally submitted the theme late last week (yes, the “Fading Flowers” theme is mine). I was going for a simple, simple, simple look, and tried to use only three colors (though if you look closely, you’ll notice four). I know I don’t stand much of a chance of winning anything, except maybe the “chosen at random” prize, but what I thought was most important was entering. This is great exposure for me and just being among that awesome talent (some of the best theme designers I know are entered in this thing!) is an honor. And I truly mean that sincerely.

I may enter another theme, my recent “Spring Fairy” theme. It may be a little more flawed than my “Fading Flowers” theme but it is the theme I am most proud of. And you can enter more than once so why not?

Anyhow, wish me the best of luck. The real winners here are the WordPress users. They’re going to have some really fantastic themes to use!
