I hope everyone out there in blog-land is having a safe and happy holiday today. Provided they celebrate this particular holiday. Mine has been good so far. No complaints here. I do feel I’ve eaten enough hard boiled eggs to last me at least another year. But we do have a good menu for tonight’s feast: honey baked ham (just a small hunk, for the three of us), baked asparagus with parmasean cheese and breadcrumbs, fresh baked french bread… mmm. Tied all together with a bottle of 2001 Lava Cap Muscat Canelli. Damn, making myself hungry here!!
Anyhow, I have an amusing anecdote to share. We went to church this morning, as we’d been meaning to go to church now for weeks. It felt good to go back, see familiar faces and listen to our pastor who is a rather excellent speaker. Well to kick off some of the singing, they played a clip on the giant screens up at the front of the church. Depicted a familiar scene, of a stone rolling away from a cave and a pile of empty linens on a slab. Then a man who looks like all the renderings of Jesus sitting next to the slab. I, apparently not entirely awake, think to myself, “He looks alot like Jim Caviezel.”
:doh
For the record, I actually have seen “The Passion of the Christ” and in fact even own it on DVD. True, I have only seen it once. It is such an intense film, not for easy viewing. Anyhow, I suppose it was an understandable mixup. I shared it with K, whispering in his ear. Of course this made him giggle and me giggle at him giggling…. :sigh :mope Never good to be caught giggling during a moving portrayal of Jesus’ resurrection. But my idiocy was kinda funny. At least at the time.
So on that note, I wish you all a very Happy Easter. To celebrate, why don’t you watch a movie starring Jim Caviezel? “Frequency” is pretty good, though “The Count of Monte Cristo” is rather epic. ![]()
