That is how the game is played

Yes, its my third TV focused entry of the week. In a row. Shut up. The fact that I am an entertainment addict should come as a surprise to no one. Added is the fact that my life is so DULL that about the only thing to report on is what I watched last night on :tv. So :-P

Survivor was fantastic last night. Its so rare anymore that anything in that game gives me goosebumps, but last night’s masterfull bait and switch was one of those moments. I missed last week, thanks to a visit from Mom and Dad. But I’m sorta glad because I loved Steph. She was a fantastic player, even if she couldn’t seem to win a challenge to save her life (nearly literally!). I miss her already. *sniff* :mope

So there are six left. Tom, Ian and Caryn find themselves targetted by the wanna-be couple Gregg and Jen. Katie, who is supposed to be so close to Ian, is showing her true colors as a fickle brat by sucking up Gregg since she views him as in charge now. Which, honestly, just turns my stomach. That’s a shitty way to play the game, in my opinion. Her “reasoning” is that she stands a better chance of winning against Gregg and Jen than she does against Tom or Ian. Puh. Lease. Katie demonstrates her lack of loyalty during the reward challenge by helping knock Ian (who is supposed to be her good friend) out of competition because Gregg promises to take her with him. And if he hadn’t been allowed to take three people (because of course he won!) he would have totally taken Jen, not Katie. EVERYONE knows that. What a schmuck.

The reward challenge was totally awesome too. Not only do they get showers, but they get their bathing suits (where was Coby’s and Angie’s when we needed them??). Not only do they get that but they get a fabulous meal up on deck. Not only do they get a fabulous meal, but they get to share it with THEIR LOVED ONES. And not only do they get to hang with their loved ones on this totally bitchin’ yacht, but they get to swim with dolphins. If that isn’t one hell of a reward, I dont’ know what is. But realistically, like Tom and Ian said, its just icing on the cake. And they want the cake.

Was Gregg foolish leaving behind some vulnerably and fiercely competitive teammates? Hell yeah. Because Tom and Ian saw the writing on the wall and went to Caryn with a plan to vote out Gregg. Unless they could convince Katie to vote with them, it would be forced to a tie and they would have to do the purple rock thing. Which, they smartly decided, would be better than falling in and waiting to be picked off next week. It’s proactive and its awesome.

And they pulled it off.

Caryn did a fabulous of moping around camp as if she expected to go next. Gregg and Jen smugly patted themselves on the back for pulling off their devastating coup. Except of course they had pulled of NOTHING. Gregg even mentioned he felt better coming back from the reward because there was no weirdness which may have indicated a plan in the works. These guys were SMOOTH. And it was perfectly plaid. Ian approached Katie moments before Tribal Council and gave her the 411. He wasn’t running it by her, no, he was telling her what was going to happen. And left it up to her.

The best decision Katie made the entire episode was when she wrote down Gregg’s name at Tribal Council. Jen was visibly shocked which was perhaps the most satisfying moment of the entire show. Take *that*! Did they honestly think people would let them “RobandAmber” their way to the final two? Totally underestimated their teammates. Now, if I were them, I’d be tempted to target the unpredictable Katie next time but I can understand they need to maybe “reward” her for voting with them. In which case its sayonara Jen!
