WOW. Just…. WOW. Last night’s Amazing Race was *awesome*. K and I were literally on the edge of our seats many a time.
I did have a problem though. I’ve been so used to rooting for Rob and Amber the entire season that I was having a hard time downshifting to rooting for Uchenna and Joyce over them. :lol I knew I wanted Uchenna and Joyce to win, and had since the beginning. This is exactly how I wanted it… Rob and Amber in a close second place and Uchenna and Joyce winning the whole shebang. And Ron and Kelly stumbling in a distant (but not too distant… nuts) third.
That team deserved no less. Ron and Kelly are *not* a cohesive unit. I can’t believe Kelly is surprised that Ron doesn’t want to get married. She’s a harpy! QUEEN OF THE HARPIES! :snicker Seriously though, I have never seen a couple more poorly suited in my life. I get the impression that Kelly just wants to be married and Ron has that whole “I was in the military, I’m good God-fearing folk” thing going on. Ron, on the other hand, has just traveled for one (very long) month with a woman who has degenerated from distantly polite to raving bitch. Why the hell would he want to marry *THAT*?
Rob and Amber looked pretty disappointed to be coming in second. But, come on, you guys can’t win *everything*. And it was a close race. And YOU ALREADY HAVE A MILLION DOLLARS. So get over it. You guys don’t even have to pay for your dream wedding so I feel no sympathy for you.
They did run a really good race though and were so much fun to watch. I was very glad to have them in it up until the end. Hey, did anyone else notice the order of finish was exactly reversed from the second to last leg to the last leg? :lol Yeah, big nerd. :nerd
Uchenna and Joyce are fantastic. Here’s a couple that was wholly decent and good. Almost to a fault! K kept yelling at the :tv for them to just ditch the cab driver and run to the finish. (They could maybe borrow the $25 to pay him from Phil, he knows they’re good for it
) But no, they wouldn’t. They wanted to be square. This couple deserved to win. They raced hard, they sacrificed and they kept a positive attitude. Most of all, they loved each other. Rob and Amber loved each other but didn’t really love anyone else. :lol. Ron and Kelly loved others but didn’t love each other.
I’m so happy for them. I hope, one way or another, they get the baby they so desire. And look at it this way, when they do get this kid (however they get him/her), they’ll have an amazing story to tell of how that child came to their family. Go Uchenna and Joyce! Free Ron!
