Clusterf*ck

(Love how I can’t bring myself to swear in the title of my own blog?)

So last night’s Survivor was less than awesome. I never thought the duo that brought us last week’s outstanding outplaying of Gregg could be so… STUPID. On first look, one would think they would just boot out Jenn and be done with it. But oh no. Not this group. At the reward challenge, Ian wins a car. Not just a car, a new Corvette. Red. Convertible. Awesome. When they first showed the car, I knew Ian was going to win it. It just *looked* like Ian’s car. ;)

Now here’s where things went bad. We all know from last week’s show that Ian and Katie had a promise to take each other on rewards should one of them win. And yes, Katie was sorta a turd last week but she ultimately stayed with Tom and Ian, right? So what does Ian do? Does he take Katie and make her happy and cement her loyalty to Tom and Ian. Nope. Does he take Caryn, to further convince her that the deal they made last TC was good? Uh-uh. Does he have a momentary lapse and take Jenn, in hopes to maybe win her to their side? Hell no!

He takes TOM.

Tom, the one sure thing Ian has in that moment. Leaving the girls resentful (mostly Katie) and alone at camp to plot. :sigh It pains me, people PAINS ME. Ian was so smart last week! And Tom so cunning! Tom’s strategy the next day is to try to strongarm Katie which goes over about as… well, add your own metaphor. Katie and Ian have an emotional argument in which she says she feels betrayed by him. Ian cries and looks pathetic and humble. But is it enough?

The only possible way Tom and Ian can both make it to the final four is if Tom wins immunity. And he does. Katie can’t bring herself to vote out Ian and Caryn (who turned face into a harpy at TC) goes home. As it should be. Now, if Tom can win immunity here on out, Ian should be safe and its very likely someone decent could win this thing. That is unless the jury goes all apeshit and picks like JENN or something. I wouldn’t put it past them. :-P
