Saturday morning Quarterback

Posted on Wednesday, May 25th, 2005, 12:54 PM

Okay, so most of you probably know the big season finale of Lost is on tonight. Two hours of madness and mayhem. I will be in heaven, for sure. And in agony, if what I think is right. Despite my distaste for season finale cliffhangers, I’m pretty sure Lost will go out on the granddaddy of them all. :roll I’m in for a summer of agony, I’m sure.

But before the awesome-ness begins, I want to place my predictions now so that I can either a) look totally awesome tomorrow when my suspicions are proved correct or b) look like a total ass and a big ol’ idiot who knows nothing about television drama. ;) So, here’s what I think:

  • They say someone is going to die tonight. I think it’s going to be Locke. :( I wish it were someone like Arzt, a bit player. But there’s some pretty incriminating evidence that it will be Locke and that just bums me out to no end. For one thing, the actor, Terry O’Quinn is reported to be back on Alias next season. Now unless he’s got a magical teleporter and a time turner (H Potter shout out!) I think he’d have a hard time doing both shows. ARGH. Of all my suspicions, I hope this one is wrong.
  • I think the crew on the raft will come back to Lost Island. Maybe not before the finale, but eventually. I think they will be convinced they are traveling north or whereever and end up, inexplicably, back at the island. And there’ll be some reason, they’ll have to stay. Jin has to get back to Sun!
  • As for Claire’s baby, I don’t think any “others” are coming to take him. I think crazy French chick takes him. I saw a commercial that was pretty damning in this repect. Maybe these “others” have told her they’ll give her back her daughter if she brings them turniphead.
  • Do I think they’ll open the hatch? Yes and no. Yes, I think they’ll get the darned thing opened but I bet one of the final scenes will be them gaping into it after it is opened and they will leave us to guess and wonder all summer long, the bastards!

I think that covers it. Now set aside whatever you’re doing tonight and WATCH. And then come back and tell me how awesome it was, how wrong I was, how right I was…what have you. :) How am I supposed to wait 7 more hours??

I know you are 3 hours behind me. And you know I’ve already seen the full thing. So here’s my official response *without* a full spoiler lol. In case you are tempted to peek haha. Still having 45 mins to wait for it to start for ya.

You were right on several things. Someone DOES die, and soon too. But not Sawyer, we even get to see him shirtless at least one more time. This death has something to do with my vague comment on YIM about your jumping and yelling at precisely 11 mins after the hour :D You’ll understand.

Clarie gets her baby back. But as to who took him, and where.. well now, that IS telling much too much.

And the hatch? The secret of the hatch deepens indeed! But what does Harley really know about it!? THAT is what I want to know.

And lastly.. there’s a scene that they couldn’t fit in that will only be shown on America Good Morning tomorrow. So I guess we’ll all be up early to watch that. grr!

Can’t wait to hear what you think when you’ve seen it!

WELL! It was very suspenseful! I was in TOTAL shock with what happened with Walt! I had a feeling it was going to be Arzt right before it happened. At least they aren’t killing ALL the major players off (I’m still bitter about Boone *sniff*). Funny how you said “deepens” with the hatch. I wonder what we find at the end of that! I thought it was pretty fitting ending the show with everyone getting on the plane–as well as all the subtle chance meetings they had before. You will have to post about the secret–my kids have total control over the TV in mornings. I am disappointed it’s over–and I guess I really wanted MORE information. It’s going to be a looooong summer!

I was up waaay too late again last night. Insomnia when the hubby works midnight shifts. So I missed this morning’s extra scene. *pout*

If ANYone else saw it, DO tell!
