So yesterday we had a BLAST for K’s big b-day. We were gone from the house all day which was fantastic as I’ve been rather tied to it all week long. Madagascar was actually really funny and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. My favorite sequence was when Alex, Gloria and Melman discovered Marty was heading to Connecticut and hilarity ensued.
Had some serious belly laughs, which is always nice. Ate WAY too much extra buttery popcorn, but that’s what going to the movies is all about, right?
We also had lunch, my treat, at P.F. Chang’s. K loves his Chinese food. And they do serve some pretty rockin’ grub there. Plus we had more than enough to bring home to reheat for dinner. H helped me make a birthday cake, which was fantastic, for coming from a regular mix. It was chocolate fudge cake and we found this white chocolate and almond frosting that we just HAD to try. And believe me, it tastes as good as it sounds. MMM!
One of K’s birthday gifts was Halo, the game. You know, the one for xbox that everyone drools over and that those guys used to make those “Red vs. Blue” movies with? (which, by the way, I heartily recommend you watching, even if you’ve never heard of the game because they’re HYSTERICAL) Anyhow, K’s been wanting that game FOREVER and a birthday is a good occasion. We played it well into the night and then again this morning. Only taking breaks so that I could rest my dizzy head (shooter games make me queasy!). But oh my god, its so much fun. And addictive! Those jerks who made this game didn’t put in any really definable places to quit. You actually have to go find the quit button yourself, its not terribly obvious.
That’s why it is nearly 6:30 and I am *still* in my pajamas. :blush
