And I thought last weekend was a party

This weekend put last weekend to SHAME. I mean, I did it up this weekend and I did it up PROPER. K will have a hard time topping this Father’s Day come Mother’s Day next year. Because we? Had FUN.

Saturday, I took K to get his hair cut and styled at the salon I went to the last time. It was supposed to be a surprise but the twerp figured it out the night before. I swear, I gave NO hints. He knew because after I’d gone and got my haircut I told him he should get his cut there sometime and then a few days later when he asked me to cut his hair for him with our personal haircutting kit, I didn’t cut it very short so it would be good and long come Father’s Day. ARGH. Oh well, he loved it anyhow. And his hair looked SOO good. So it was worth it. Then we went to the mall. Not such a good idea when I’ve got some $ just aching to be spent. But I was good. I browsed Motherhood and didn’t even try on a single thing. I browsed Sephora and lovingly gazed at the foundation bushes and Lip Venom but didn’t buy anything. But I found my downfall when we visited the Electronics Boutique. They had a limited collectors edition of Halo 2 in the used games section and it cost the same as the regular used Halo 2 so heck, I *had* to get it! I mean, they didn’t have any new Halo 2 so I just couldn’t in good conscience pass that up. We also went to Children’s place and got H a nice outfit for his first day of school.

We were going to go home for lunch after that. Until, of course, K mentioned Taco Bell. Oh yes. I wanted me a club chalupa. Of course, they weren’t making those anymore. Which sucks and was a little surprising as I’d just seen a commercial for one the night before! Tease! Anyhow. After that we had to get home. Halo 2 was calling, you see. So naturally the rest of the day was sort of a blur.

Sunday was awesome. We got up early and go our showers and left the house at an UNGODLY hour. I took K to breakfast at Mimi’s Cafe. Yum!! We both had Eggs Benedict, except he got the Blue Crab Benny whereas mine was the original style. So much food! K also got a mimosa (grr) and I had to make do with plain orange juice. (Okay, I had a sip of his. I’m not made of steel!) When we were done, there was still a ton of time before church so we went across the street to a full service car wash and got the van cleaned. Boy howdy, did it need it. We got the whole shebang, vacuum, undercarriage, wax, wheel cleaning…you name it. And K was awful proud to be driving such a fine looking automobile to church (even though we were a few minutes late… it took a long time to wash that grimey thing!).

And that’s not all! After church we drove over to the cemetery, much like we did for Mother’s Day. We had some new flowers to put on Jackson’s grave. H wanted to put them on, so naturally, we let him. What a sweet boy. Then we went to Home Depot so K could geek out at Man Stuff. I followed dutifully, careful not to complain. ;) Then we swung through the McDonald’s drive thru for some milkshakes. MMM! After that? Home and Halo 2. Of course!! We ordered pizza for dinner and generally slacked around for the rest of the evening. Very nice.

Weekends like that don’t come along every day. Which is probably a good thing. Besides being all kinds of fun it was all kinds of expensive. But hey, I had a serious need to blow off some steam after last week. And this week? Busier than a one-armed paper hanger. Long live the weekend! :) Back to work. :dry
