So surfing Dish Network for something decent to watch, K and I found Four Weddings and a Funeral on Lifetime. And it’s truly a really decent movie. Ushered in the era of the witty British comedy (championed by Love Actually, in my opinion) and introduced the world to Hugh Grant. A really great movie. There’s only ONE problem.
Andie MacDowell.
I can’t *stand* her in this movie. I’m not even sure what it is. K and I finally narrowed it down to her trying too hard to be cute before we gave up on figuring it out. She just BUGS me. I truly enjoy all the scenes in the movie except for the ones where she’s chewing on the scenery. Ugh!! And that line of hers at the end? “Is it raining? I hadn’t noticed.” OH. MY. GOD. If I could choose one moment in all my life to be able to reach through the tv and slap someone, that would be it. There’s just no excuse for that.
Upon further research, I don’t really care for any movie she’s in. Well, maybe that’s not true. I like St. Elmo’s Fire, just not her character. Michael, Green Card, Multiplicity… she stinks up the joint in all of them.
The ONLY movie I can tolerate her in, even dare to say I *enjoy* her in, is Groundhog Day. Now, why is that?? Was it because she wasn’t trying to be cute, she just was? Her character, while schmaltzy, was somehow more believable, I guess. I don’t know. But she’s not half bad in that one. So I give her that. But that’s it.
Anywho, now you know my issues with Andie MacDowell. She’s a freakin’ toad, people!

Where does the time go? Of course, it helps to have treated both Monday and Tuesday as weekend days. This actually feels like a Wednesday. So I guess that’s the first bit of good luck I’ve had all week. Friday before I expected it. How often does *that* happen??
After all my frenetic postings of the last week I’m finding I don’t have a whole lot to say. Or too much to say, depending on how you look at it. In those situations it’s very easy to say, “I’m not going to post at all” and that’s no fun for anyone.
For now, I will leave with this shot taken this morning from my garden (which continues to thrive despite the heat! More than I can say about myself!)

This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
