So have you all heard of “In-n-Out Burger“? If you haven’t, you are definitely missing out. One of the last of the great burger chains; inexpensive and YUMMY. The sort of place the prides itself on its fresh beef and veggies and fresh pressed potato french fries. Where you bite into a burger and you know you’re eating something good because it’s all made the way it was supposed to be made.
We don’t eat there a lot, mostly because the two franchises here in town aren’t really near any part of town we tend to frequent. Also because In-n-Out tends to be something of a mob scene. It’s just that popular.
Tonight, we happened to find ourselves near an In-n-Out at 8pm, after the crowds would have mostly dissipated, and not having had dinner yet. Excellent. And let me tell you, the cheeseburger I had was out of this world. And the fries, fantastic as always. I was curious to notice, then, on the corner of the burger wrapper the phrase: “Revelation 3:20″. Huh? A bible verse? At In-n-Out? That seemed unlikely. K thought so too. But there it was, plain as day. I was intrigued now, I had to go look this one up.
Here it is:
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
Of course. It makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? So there’s another reason to eat at In-n-Out, they’re good Christian folk.

All mom’s are proud of their boys, right? (And girls!) Every mom thinks her child is the brightest, cutest, most cleverest thing that came down the chute. So indulge me for a moment while I wax poetic about my boy.
I think he’s the cat’s meow.

See this articulate drawing? This is the front of our house, labeled by me to explain the details, becuase the details? They rock. My child is nothing if not observant. I love the detail in the shingles on the roof over the garage, and the purposeful shape of the house itself. Impressive! Louvre Museum, here we come!

If possible, I’m more impressed with this picture. This is the back of our house. I love that he drew a picture of one of the planet stickers through the window from his Buzz Lightyear themed bedroom. I love that he drew himself, hanging out the loft window. I love the pumpkins in the garden and the barbeque, complete with a fire in it. Isn’t this kid the best??
Compare, if you will, the drawings to the actual photos (taken this morning! Hot off the presses!)

Pardon me for saying, I think I like the drawings better than the actual photos.

(please ignore the weeds in our backyard that are threatening to take over the world) Those drawings are going in my permanent file, you better believe it. Have I mentioned that I just love love love my little boy? He’s the bestest.
