28 Bottles of Beer on the Wall

by Marilyn on August 19, 2005

So I’ve been drinking more than usual lately. A fact that is probably well-known to you, faithful reader. I feel justfied in the fact that a) my life as of late has sucked pretty hard-core and b) we normally go *months* without having anything to drink. Beer will often sit in our fridge for weeks and months on end. Bottles of wine remain half-drunk until we throw them away. Now, neither of the above scenarios would occur around this house in the last two weeks. Just no way.

I did a tally today. I tallied up all the drinks (that I can remember) I’ve had between August 3rd and August 18th. It’s a rather impressive list.

  • 1 Jack & Coke
  • 1 7&7
  • 5 glasses of champagne (some larger than others)
  • 7 bottles of Mike’s Hard Berry
  • 5 Margaritas (2 strawberry, 2 regular)
  • 1 extra large glass of Chianti
  • 1 glass of Cabernet
  • 2 Kahlua & Creams
  • 1 “chocolate” milk (consisting of chocolate liqueur, 1/2 and 1/2 and milk)
  • 2 Gin & Tonics
  • 2 Hornsby’s Amber Drafts

Now, what’s on the menu for tonight?? :woot

A chance to right a wrong

by Marilyn on August 19, 2005

Apparently, I wasn’t the only one upset by Kelly and Alec winning on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”. There has been much contention that the show was fixed, if not unbalanced in its awarding of the prize to Kelly and Alec. So, there’s going to be a “dance off”. No, you haven’t been transported to an old, cheesy, 80’s movie; this is the real thing.

On September 20th, the “dance off” will air on ABC (8:30 pm, check your local listings!), so that Kelly and John O’Hurley can go head to head once more. There will be a latin dance, a ballroom dance and a freestyle number. And this time, the winner will be decided entirely by viewer votes, no judges. Which I have a feeling won’t really help matters as all the “General Hospital” message boards are probably already filling up with notes about how they’re going to get everyone they ever met to vote for Kelly cuz she ROCKS.

Whatever. :dry

I’m going to try to counteract that wave of votes for Kelly by begging… PLEADING with people to vote for John O’Hurley. Even if they haven’t ever watched the show, have no interest in the show, think I’m on crack… I DON’T CARE! Justice will be served, by god!

I know the show is a whole month away and everyone will most likely have forgotten by then. Never fear, I shall remind you. We can’t let that no-talent ass-queen Kelly win this thing again!
