Okay, tonight we went to see The Dukes of Hazzard movie at the theater near my in-law’s house. Annnnnd…. it didn’t suck. At least, not entirely.
It was funny. Really funny in parts, in fact. I *loved* the chase scene in Atlanta, where Bo Duke was going apeshit. That was hilarious. And Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott weren’t horrible (though I preferred Sean to Johnny). The guy they got to play Enos (sorry, folks, I’m not looking him up. Just too damned lazy) was spot on for the most part too. I didn’t hate Cooter, either, which is a surprise becuase I don’t like him at all on the tv show.
But there was more than a fair share of blasphemy as well. Boss Hogg and Roscoe P. Coltrane were AWFUL. Particularly Roscoe. I didn’t like Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse either. Uncle Jesse is the patriarch, the lone voice of reason, the only figure of authority that the Duke boys will listen to (most of the time). And the part where the Duke boys had to restrain Uncle Jesse from violence? Absurd. I don’t like Jessica Simpson on principle so I’m not sure if she was a good Daisy Duke either. But I’m going to err on the side of caution and say she bit the big one too.
But, if you’re looking for some good, harmless fun, I can recommend this one. Couldn’t even *touch* the original series, but fun all the same. And the soundtrack (minus Jessica Simpson tunes) kicks ASS.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know, that in case you’re worried about the water ultrasound (sonohystogram), don’t! I had one just two weeks ago and I dreaded it and was just certain that opening my cervix for any reason could not be a good thing! Turns out after taking the advil I had only minor cramping with the biggest cramp being brief right when they inserted the tube. They had asked me to press on my stomach and I just kept my hands there when the cramping began. Otherwise it was quite quick and not all that unbearable. I was so relieved. I didn’t really cramp afterwards either, just “leaked” for a short while so take a panty-liner! I just wanted to share my experience as when I was due to have mine I didn’t know anyone who had done it before to ask about it so I had it built up to be majorly painful………..and it wasn’t!

Love your review! Pretty much sums up my opinion of the movie as well. I too did not like Willie Nelson as Uncle Jessie, and his rendition of the theme song was just bad. And Burt Reynolds as Boss Hog? Puhlease. I liked the college scenes, very funny. All in all a cute movie worth the rental.
