The Human Pin-Cushion

by Marilyn on September 6, 2005

We made it back home today, at last, but I hit the ground running and have had NO time to relax and/or blog. Sucks.

While H was occupied at kindergarten, I decided I should go ahead and get the rest of my “what the hell happened” bloodwork done. No time like the present, right? I got the appointment for the water ultrasound made this morning for Friday at 5pm. And thanks to Laura, I now know what to expect. And know to take one of my 800mg Motrin’s before I go in. ;) I don’t expect to have the bloodwork results back by Friday, but it doesn’t hurt to get a jump on that before the next cycle rolls around.

Well shoot, no one told me they were going to have to take TWELVE VIALS of blood out of my arm! I didn’t know you *could* take twelve vials of blood out of a person. Without said person becoming a limp puddle on the floor. TWELVE! These were to check for clotting disorders and anti-thyroid antibodies. I don’t expect there will be any problem but I know I will feel better having crossed all the t’s and dotted all the i’s.

Out of all this I scored some cheese fries and a milkshake simply because I came wobbling out of there, looking a little pale in the face. Rockin! Let’s hope I don’t need any more blood draws for a while, I need a while to repopulate my red blood cells. :P

I think I need to lie down just hearing about that.
