It was the worst of times? Not really. We had a good time. Definitely better than that fateful trip before the election last fall (NEVER visit a strongly “red” community if you’re strongly “blue” directly before an election) or the Christmas trip which sucked simply because I was in such bad spirits. No, this trip was just as it was supposed to be, enjoyable and relaxing. The weather was great, the people were happy and good times were had. There was also some “Hard Berry” in there somewhere, which you know, helped a lot. And the scenery is always nice. Too bad we couldn’t fit in a trip to Lamoille Canyon, I could have scored some truly awesome pictures there. Maybe next trip.
And H had a great time too. Here he is being man-handled by his cousin. She had her 18th birthday while we were there. Which freaks me the heck out because I remember when she was knee-high to a grasshopper. And she was driving too! And did I mention this girl is ENGAGEd too? Don’t even get me started. I’m starting to feel middle-aged. H didn’t get to play with his other cousins as much as maybe he wanted to, but he had a good time nevertheless and as you can see, he wasn’t really at a loss for attention from anyone.
We celebrated several birthdays while we were there. Because this family has to have birthdays in these clumps. This trip it was my mother in law, my nephew and my niece. So we got them all presents for the party they threw on Monday.
Good times were had by all. :)? The end of August/beginning of September is always a choice time to visit Elko. :)
