It wasn’t so hard to come up with a song of the week this week. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that today is the four year anniversary of the September 11 attacks. I remember that morning VIVIDLY. I didn’t get out of bed until about 6:45, that would be 9:45 eastern time. We always turn on the news first thing. The first thing I noticed, we weren’t getting local news, which we normally do until The Today Show takes over at 7am. As I got myself in front of the television, and saw the image of those two towers on fire, I couldn’t believe what was happening. I just *could not* believe it. K and I watched, transfixed until the towers fell. At first, he didn’t think the south tower had fallen. But I knew it had. Soon, the north tower followed.
All those people.
Anyhow, in tribute, here is Leann Rimes singing “God Bless America”. Enjoy and take a moment to think about that very, very fateful day.
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her,
Through the night with the light from above.
From the mountains, to the praries,
to the oceans, wide with hope,
God Bless America,
My home sweet home.
God Bless America,
My home sweet home
God Bless America
From the mountains, to the praries,
to the oceans, wide with hope,
God Bless America,
My home sweet home.
God Bless America,
My home sweet home.
