So this weekend is the
Reno National Championship Air Races and Air Show. Try saying that one five time fast. And I’m fortunate enough to live in the part of town where these races are held. So my normally quiet neighborhood has literally been abuzz with the sound of plane engines all week long while these yahoos practice. This morning, however, the buzz was more of a roar. Those were jet fighters! Not having lived near any military bases, like EVER, this was novelty to me so I did what anyone would have done. I grabbed my camera.
Do you know how hard it is to take pictures of jet fighters? Those guys are FAST and unless you use the zoom, you’re not going to get any sort of decent picture and that makes it even harder. Especially when they fly into the sun, which these guys had a fun time doing.

Hence, a lot of the pictures I took were mostly taken while they were far away, because that’s the only way I could zoom and reasonably expect to catch the planes in the frame. I think I did a pretty decent job, considering. They did zoom over our neighborhood and it was an awesome sight. Noisy, but awesome. And these pictures don’t even come close to capturing that. But I’m a blog whore and I’m posting them anyhow.
