You gotta watch this show!

by Marilyn on September 20, 2005

So right this very minute, I’m watching a brand new sitcom called My Name is Earl. And let me just say, it’s damn fucking hilarious. If you aren’t watching this show you really oughta start. For one thing, I’m a big Jason Lee fan anyhow. And this is definitely a good role for him. K and I have been busting a gut watching this thing.

Here’s an example (and I’m sure it’ll lose something in the translation but here goes anyhow): Earl, his brother and their friend are supposed to be going together to rob a house or something. Well, Earl and his brother are there, wearing rubber masks. At first, I can’t place Earl’s (I thought maybe it was Gorbechev), but his brother is wearing a Saddam Hussein mask. The friend is wearing an Osama Bin Laden mask Then I place Earl’s mask: it’s Dick Cheney. :lol Now tell me that isn’t fantasticly perfect? I’m sure you all can make the connection. ;)

So please. Don’t be wasting your time on Sex, Love & Secrets, Supernatural, House or Commander in Chief. Okay, Amazing Race comes on on September 27th which you bet your sweet bippy I”ll be watching. Okay. You don’t have to watch My Name is Earl on Tuesday nights, but you damn well better be TIVO’ing it!

Roundness

by Marilyn on September 20, 2005

That\'s one round babyI was looking through a pile of old stuff this morning when I found this picture of my son when he was 6 months old. Look at the roundness! His head, his arms, his body, his legs, his feet….every last inch is ROUND. My son was slow to get moving (heck, it’s still impossible to get him to hustle), and had only just started sitting up and was kicking around the idea of crawling. Of course, crawling meant doing a G.I. Joe commando crawl on his belly across the floor, like a snake or something. But this was him at his roundest. Before he really started moving around. And have I mentioned? The boy liked his milk. He was a fantastic eater, better then than now! :)

My favorite part of this picture? His eyes. Yes, the smile is adorable too but I love the way the smile reaches his eyes, making them twinkle with what could only be described as delight. That there is a happy baby. And I had a hand in making him that happy, and healthy, and comfortable. That feels really great. :)

Whenever I feel awful about our fertility situation (that sounds like a dreadful understatement, doesn’t it?), I look at pictures of H as a baby. And it reminds me of why I want another baby so badly. Because look at that face! Who wouldn’t want another one of those??
