Speaking of: I hear the response from the infertile community regarding that NBC show, “Inconceivable” has been less than favorable. And, can I just say, I told you so?
I’ve done some lurking on the boards over at Ovusoft. More specifically, the Infertility Discussion forums. And people? The verdict isn’t a happy one. On the surface, most people thought it was over-dramatized, soapy and full of bad acting. Beneath the surface, it was insulting, contrived and horrendous.
I can only hope that the great American public agrees and this show is canned faster than tomato sauce. Any of you see it? What’d you think?

Hey girl - I think I told you that I totally love this design…… I may need to be decadent and get a slight retooling…. what guilty pleasures we have…. *giggle*
Who is that dog? Or rather, to whom does that dog belong? (Besides to himself….)
Love……

Oh, yeah…I watched it. While I found it completely inaccurate in almost every facet…it’s trashy tv at best and I sort of have a weak spot for trashy tv.
I’m not saying I would stay home on a Friday night to catch this show, but if I happened to be home and I had nothing else to do? Sure, I’d watch it.
But the other part of me struggles with condoning it’s complete inaccuracy and depiction of IVF. I mean, I don’t want people out there that don’t know much about IVF to think this is the way it really is. But I am keeping in mind that it’s just TV and I don’t think ER is real.
It’s a toss-up for me between thinking it was an okay show and really hating it.

Iris - Hey, I can help with any retooling you need.
And the dog is mine! That’s the infamous Beetoe. Otherwise known as my favorite parasite.
Dooney - Yeah, that’s what I struggle against (and I didn’t even watch it). It is just a tv show, no one really expects it to be accurate. But IVF and other IF stuff is such touchy ground… you would think NBC would realize that if they were going to cover it, they’d need to go above and beyond the standard “ER” format, you know? Or maybe I’m being too sensitive.
