Apparently today is “Boss’s Day”. Seems everyone has a day anymore, doesn’t it? Actually, my calendar says it was on SUNDAY which when you think about it, is a pretty stupid day to have it since a most people don’t work on Sundays. But I digress.

Each year, the women who work the front desk in K’s office take the “boss’s” out to lunch for Boss’s Day. This would be three of K’s coworkers, R, J and R2. Now, mind you, K is a boss too. Not to those women, but then, J isn’t a boss to those women either. But those women have NEVER liked K and often do stupid things like this because they’re petty and rude. K, bless his heart, could care less. However, he was a little miffed when they emailed him late yesterday afternoon asking if he would watch the front desk while they’re out on this lunch.

My response would have been, “HELL NO!” or something along those lines but K is much more diplomatic than I am. He merely stated that he had a bunch of work to catch up on and had other plans. Thankfully, those plans involved me taking him out to lunch. I told him it was for Boss’s Day because, in a way, he’s my boss just like in some ways I’m *his* boss. He said, “Damn right, I’m your boss.” Then I had to slug him in the arm.

So Julie has a “How Good a Mother Are You?” quiz on her blog. And me, being me, had to take this quiz because I’m pretty sure I’m a fairly rotten mother and I just want to be able to have the facts to back it up. I’m not sure how well I ultimately scored but I’m pretty sure I won’t be winning any mother of the year awards anytime soon.

I *always* was waiting to see if K would get up and tend to the crying monster first. I think that’s a pretty standard parenting move these days. Isn’t it? ISN’T IT??
