Whenever one (or more) of us takes a day off during the regular work week, it always throws me off. My internal calendar gets all messed up and I have *no* idea what day it is half the time.
Have I mentioned how regimented I tend to be?
So K took off Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which sorta impacted my work schedule as well, since when he’s home I’m just physically unable to get as much work done as I can while he’s at work. Add in the in-laws being here until Wednesday and… well… I’m all confused.
Apparently today was Saturday. Had a hard time proving it by me. And now I’m struggling to come to grips with the knowledge that it is nearly SUNDAY. Where’d my freaking week go?? Not that I want it back or anything, but I’m way off.
Next week doesn’t look to be any better either. K had Friday off because it’s “Nevada Day (Observed)”. Nevada Day is actually on October 31st but some chucklehead had the brilliant idea of having it observed on the last Friday of the month (you know, just in case Halloween ever falls on a day that isn’t Monday or Friday…just so said chucklehead could have a three day weekend). Frankly, I liked it better when it was on Halloween. It was pretty cool being able to tell my friends I had Halloween off because it’s a recognized state holiday. ;)
But I digress. K get paid once a month, the night before the last working day of the month (direct deposit rocks). I’m not entirely sure why the 31st doesn’t count this year. I think it has something to do with it being on a monday and direct deposits can’t go in Sunday nights for some reason. And he can’t get paid Friday night because Saturday isn’t a working day and he won’t get paid THURSDAY night either because Friday isn’t a working day either. Confused yet?
So K will get paid on WEDNESDAY night. That’s the 26th, y’all. This throws me WAY off. We do a big grocery trip on the last day of the month. Do we wait till the 31st or do we do it on Thursday? Or over the weekend? And how hard is going to be to have to go until November 29th to get paid again??
I think I need to go lie down.
This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
