The Days of Toaster and Roses

by Marilyn on October 24, 2005

Our new toasterSo this last weekend, we were shopping at Walmart (as usual) and I saw a display of appliances and it made me think. You know, our toaster is at least eight years old. If not nine. It wasn’t high end to begin with and is starting to look a little weird, along with the whole unpredictable toasting color thing. And I simply saw the coolest looking toaster ever. Let’s face it, I had to have it. Who wouldn’t want a shiny, red toaster in their kitchen?

Blue Girl roseSo I got it. And I was so excited when I got home that I got out a piece of bread to toast right away. And then I discovered that it didn’t work. :( I was very sad. When you pressed down on the little lever it wouldn’t stay down. My beloved red toaster!! We went back the next day to return it and something else we’d gotten that wasn’t up to snuff and I picked out another one. I crossed my fingers all the way home that it would work. And did it?

Double Delight roseDid it ever! It works like a charm and as you can see in the first picture, looks fantastic in my kitchen with the new tile backsplash. :) And the roses? Those grew outside my very own front door. Okay, so the lavender one (called a Blue Girl) is on it’s way out, but still big and beautiful and has the most wonderful, light, fruity smell. Very delicate. And the bi-colored one (called a Double Delight) is absolutely amazing in person. Not only is it HUGE but the smell is incredible. I swear to God, it smells like rose fragrance or perfume.

All this in one kitchen… it may just be too much for me to handle. :)
