- 1. I was born in California.
- 2. I’m not proud of that fact.
- 3. I came to Reno to go to school to get away from California.
- 4. Because it was the furthest from home my parents would let me go.
- 5. I can’t stand to be too hot.
- 6. Bad news is it can get pretty hot in Reno.
- 7. I’d love to live in New England someday. Maybe even the Pacific Northwest or Alaska. See a trend here?
- 8. I was married to K in August of 1998. 8/8/98, in fact.
- 9. My birthday is 12/12.
- 10. My son was born 11/10. I was *that* close.
- 11. My second son, who was stillborn, was due 4/4/04
- 12. I have a weird thing for those symmetrical dates.
- 13. I was raised Catholic and attended an all-girls Catholic high school. Complete with the plaid uniform skirt.
- 14. Contrary to popular belief, I really enjoyed my high school. I made a lot of great friends there.
- 15. I *hated* junior high school. All the kids there were stuck up selfish brats. If not for the private high school, I would have had to spend high school with those same people and I don’t know if I could have withstood that.
- 16. My favorite subject in school was English.
- 17. My senior year of high school I took five different English courses.
- 18. Surprise, surprise! In college I majored in English.
- 19. The real surprise? First I majored in Journalism and didn’t switch for the first two years so I had to graduate in five years instead of four.
- 20. When I came to school in Reno, I had no car, no friends and barely any money.
- 21. I was very homesick that first semester.
- 22. I had a crazy roommate. She did drugs and would stay out all weekend. Her “connections” would call all night long and then she’d yell at me because I’d unplugged the phone.
- 23. The next semester I moved in with a girl who I’d become friends with. She turned out to be psycho too. She tried to ban me from using the internet and one night attempted suicide with a bottle of tylenol.
- 24. I had better luck my sophomore year, but the first semester my roommate was a girl from Japan who never spoke to me the whole fall semester.
- 25. Spring semester that year I had a roommate from South Africa. She was nice but turned psycho the following fall when she tried to blackmail me for money to pay her outrageous phone bill.
After a decidely rough weekend (I felt SO sick for most of it, and a lot of that I can’t rightly blame on morning sickness… I think I picked up a bug somewhere), I’m a little startled that it’s Monday already. Plus, not ready for the *action* that I have to take. But, I took action this morning, against my will or not.
I called the RE’s office and they faxed a beta lab request to the lab for me. So I had to hoof over there. After I finally found the joint (ever come across a street that mapquest just WILL NOT FIND?), the gal inside poked my arm and I was outta there. I also called my general practitioner. I hemmed and hawed about who to call but settled on her because she’s been the one testing my thyroid and that’s my major need right now, to get the thyroid tested. So I have an appointment Wednesday morning at 8:30 to talk to her and all that jazz. Let’s hope I’m still pregnant by then. (OMG, the negativeness!)
So right now? Just waiting to hear back on beta results. Any minute now. What do you want to bet that they’ll wait until 10 minutes to five to call? Typical.
Edit (5:03 pm): So they did wait until five minutes to 5pm to call… how’s that for making me wait on pins and needles? Luckily, she had good news so I didn’t feel the need to flame her.
Today’s beta was 126. A *LOT* better than the 70 I got on 18dpo last time (today is 17dpo) and that makes me feel a lot better.
Go, baby, go!
