Turkey Aftermath

The adults tableWe made it back from Sacto! Barely though, it was raining cats and dogs on us all the way home. Didn’t snow, luckily, but we had to wonder if it might not have been better if it had. Because the rain? Was SLIPPERY. At least with snow we could have put chains on or something. it was a little nerve-wracking.

But our holiday went so well. The picture is of the “adult” table at Thanksgiving yesterday. It really was a beautiful table and we had so much wonderfully awesome food that I can’t even think about it right now without starting to drool. I had myself just the *teeniest* bit of wine. A) Because I’d already gotten skeptical looks when I turned down beer or wine for soda when we first got there and B) I really wanted to avoid curious questions. We’re determined to keep this pregnancy thing a secret until January at least. And it was a lot of fun to stand there and know we had a totally awesome secret. :) I would grin and giggle to myself at completely random times. :)

The kids tableThis was the “kids” table. H sat here with the other young adults and it was just adorable how they took him under their wings and played with him and made sure he was having a good time. :)

We stayed in Sacramento for the night at a motel my parents picked out. Bless their hearts, they were worried about finding a place that might be too expensive so my dad found some place for $45 a night or something. As you can imagine, it wasn’t the posh-est of motels. But it was some place to hang our hats and though sleep was a tough commodity, we made it through till morning. ;)

I’ve got a lot more to gab about but for now, this will do. :) Hope you all had Happy Thanksgivings and enjoyed the holiday!
