So yeah, I still have a baby, apparently. I don’t have any scientific evidence to back this up, save for the absense of a period. And the heartburn. DEAR GOD, the heartburn. But I’m just going on faith here that I am still pregnant.
I’m *not* going to do another “Weekly Progress Report” thingie like I did last time. Partly because, I did it last time and looked what happened? (I’m horribly superstitious about such things) and partly because I’m lazy as heck. Or busy as heck. Or some happy medium. Besides, do you really care how many pounds I’ve gained or what symptoms are plaguing me? I didn’t think so.
But I thought I would give a generic run-down on how it’s all going so far.
Morning sickness? Not so much, thankfully. I was so ill last week because of that stupid stomach bug that took up residence in my intestines. But since that flew the coop, I’ve felt a lot better. I’ll get a little queasy if I skip a meal or something, but nothing awful.
But yeah, there is some serious heartburn. I get heartburn ALL THE TIME. Eat pizza? Get heartburn. Eat soup? Get heartburn. Drink water? Get heartburn. Breathe? Get heartburn. I don’t ever remember having this bad of heartburn with any other pregnancy. Woo hoo for something new? :lol
I’m tired too. Not horribly so, but enough so that I have this constant state of drowsiness all day long. And I’m going to bed earlier each night too. Interestingly enough, I’ve also had some insomnia, most often in the morning. I’m still tired but restless too. I want so badly to keep sleeping but I can’t seem to stop wiggling around and waking up. Urgh.
Nothing else to really speak of. I have a headache right now but I have no idea where it came from. I do wish it’d go away though.
So I had my TSH drawn last week. The numbers? They aren’t so good. The docs like to see a TSH under 2 and mine is 4.8. I’m *not* happy about this. But I don’t know what to do about it. My general practitioner thought I should just take the same dosage I’ve been on. She said she’d consult with a perinatologist and get back to me but so far, no word. I want that number DOWN again. I want to feel like I’m being cared for and watched over.
I called the OB today, and they didn’t have anything for me to do other than maybe get another beta done. K didn’t think I should do that, since I’m getting another beta on Thursday. I guess there’s not much else I can do but wait and see. I don’t like “wait and see” but I don’t see where I have much choice.
So that’s the pregnancy update for the week. :) Aren’t you glad I did one? ;)

I finally talked to my GP and she said the perinatologist said to double my thyroid medicine. The prescription she’d given me was for .125 mg so I guess that’ll be .250 mg…that’s as much as I’ve ever taken! Plus they want me retested in three weeks. Also, the peri said that if I see a peri in conjunction with my OB, I could get the c-section at 37 weeks. :blink Wow! So I feel better now, I feel like I’m actually getting something done to take care of myself. :)
