State of the Uterus

by Marilyn on December 20, 2005

What with the absense of handy “Weekly Progress Reports” like last time, I can see where it’d be easy to forget that I’m pregnant right now. Heck, even *I* forget every now and then. Then I have a wave of nausea when I’ve put off snacktime a little too long, or my boobs hurt like mofo’s or I get heartburn from DRINKING WATER. Then I’m reminded.

So I thought I’d let ya’ll know how it’s going. It’s going.

Seriously, an easy pregnancy so far. And I’m sure a large part of that is due to the fact that this pregnancy is so vastly different from any I’ve had before. I don’t obsess over each and every day. I’m not aching to go buy maternity clothes and baby books. I have my planner so I can keep track of appointments and symptoms, plus I have all those clothes from the previous failed attempts, I think I’m set for a while. I’m not poring over baby name books. I’m pretty sure we already know which names we’re going to use so that’s taken care of. And since virtually no one KNOWS yet, I don’t have people talking to me about it either.

My belly does have a pooch. But nothing outrageous. Heck, people, I’m only 8 1/2-9 weeks along (depending on who you ask…and really, what difference does a couple of days really make??).

See? That’s a good example. Before, I always agonized over due dates. This time? I know this baby will be born sometime in July. That’s good enough for me.

I have an ultrasound set up for the 3rd. Until then, I just have to trust that I’m still pregnant. Not that I have any previous experience that would comfort me on this. But I do have faith, and that’s saying a lot.

Now, let’s see if we can make it through Christmas without spilling the beans to my parents! Should be a laugh-a-minute! :) (Especially when I replace my wine at Christmas dinner with the non-alcoholic wine we bought for this very reason. DIABOLICAL!)

Glad to know that things are going good. Having faith in the situation is a good thing.
