I hope everyone had a good New Years.? Things finally dried up here only for the rain to start up again today.? Doesn’t that sound just about right??? We had a good time last night, just the three of us.? We rented “March of Penguins” and “The Fantastic Four” and ate all sorts of appetizers and snack foods.? That was fun.? I had a little champagne at midnight, but mostly shared a bottle of sparkling cider with my son.? Speaking of, he managed to stay up with us past midnight!? I’m impressed, I could never do that at his age.
Today we did some shopping.? Finally broke our mall-ban and hit some of the sales.? Did a good job too.? I think I’ve finally fullfilled my camisole quota.? I tried looking at Motherhood for clothes, but I started having anxiety.? Apparently, I’m not confident enough to invest in maternity clothes.
Anyhow, what I really wanted to do was look back at the last year.? The highs, the lows… The good, the bad… There were plenty of both. Naturally, this is all concerning the Entertainment industry becuase we all know what kind of year *I* had.
- Best Breakup: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey? Seriously did this come as a surprise to *anyone*?? I was just relieved when it finally happened so it could finally stop dominating the tabloid press.
- Biggest Dumbass in Hollywood: Tom Cruise? Yeah, this one isn’t surprising either. First he goes midevial on Brooke Shields (and Matt Lauer), then he goes batshit on national TV via the Oprah show.? Dude, DECAF.
- Best Celebrity Wedding: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner? Okay, this may just be my opinion, but I think they’re a cute couple.? And I was glad to see they eschewed the limelight that had so hounded Bennifer.? I’m glad for them, really.
- Worst Breakup: Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston? I may be the only one who doesn’t think Brad and Angelina are the greatest thing since sliced bread.? I liked Brad and Jen together.? They seemed down to earth.? Yeah, I was sorta bummed when they broke up.? But face it, Jen can do better.
- Worst Baby Name: Kal-El Coppola Cage? Man, what was he *thinking*?? People are just stupid about these baby names, I swear.
- Biggest DUH: Kate Moss’s drug habit? TELL me you didn’t know this one back in the early ninties.? They didn’t call it “heroine chic” for nothing, right?
- Couple who should NOT procreate but did: Britney Spears and Kevin Federline? They give me the big-time heebie jeebies, people.? I hate to say they’re not deserving, because I’m not that hateful, but DANG.
I can’t talk about Best Movies or anything like that, becuase it would have to be the best movie I saw, which I think I already talked about. So there you have it.? The obscure and the not-so.? Hopefully no celebrities will name their babies anything insane this year and PLEASE GOD please do not let Britney get her wish to have another baby with K-Fed.
