Telling the parents went about as one would expect.? I didn’t get cute when I called my mom; I just said, “Guess what?? We’re going to have a baby!”? Until that point, she confessed to me, she thought I had bad news.? Boy is her radar off.? She was pretty impressed with our secret keeping over the holidays.? Her reaction when I told her the due date? “July?? But that’s so soon!”? :lol She mentioned she thought about grilling us over Christmas (but honestly, didn’t she grill us to a degree anyhow?), but thought better of it. Riiiight.? Then the conversation dissolved into her demanding H come stay with them when he’s off school this summer.? Thing is?? K’s family has already asked to have him.? Hoping that one doesn’t get too ugly.? I guess they could fight over something worse… and either way we win, becuase hey, time alone!? Bonus!

Then K called his parents.? He was a little more crafty than I was.? He started by asking if they had any plans the week or so after 4th of July.? Then he followed that up with, “I was wondering if you guys could come stay with H while we’re at the hospital having the baby.”? Hee hee!? :)? Her reply, “WHAT baby??”? He’d planned to take it further by saying, “You mean we forgot to tell you??”? But her reaction made him laugh so he blew that one. :)

We gave both sets of parents permission to “spread the word”.? That’s how it’s done in my family especially.? One does not call the siblings and various relations theirself!? No, we rely on Mom Network to do that. :)? So I imagine large portions of both families know the dirty truth by now.? Wow, it feels good to have that one out of the bag!? I still have other people to tell, friends and such, but I may wait until the next time I speak to them instead of making a special call or something.? Cuz you must remember, I do hate the phone.
