Wow, now I look all professional and stuff

The new desk!

So the real reason I was unable to post my pics all day yesterday (the long story I previously referenced) is all explained by the above picture. Now, I know that means NOTHING to any of you who didn’t know of my former desk. Let’s just put it this way: it was white and black metal, dirty, old, falling apart, and FUGLY. K couldn’t stand to look at it, and it was barely functional. Plus, there was no storage on the dang thing. It had a couple of falling-down wire shelves on the one side, that looked atrocious, whether I put anything on them or not. It had been free, I forget now where we got it from.

Anywho. It was time for a new desk. Due to all the business he gives them from the university, K had a rewards card to spend at Office Depot. He gets one every several months. It’s good for $50 off any purchase. So after monster trucks on Saturday we stopped off to look at their desks. Lucky us, they were having a sale, ending that day. What fortune! We found this desk, originally $165, having all the features I desired. A hutch with storage, a file drawer and an enclosed cabinet for the cpu (if we are going to be having a baby, I’m going to need to be able to lock things up). After taxes, my cut was only about $100, which I think rocks to no end. :)

So all day yesterday was spent taking apart the old monstrosity, putting together the new fabulousness and getting my computer back in working order (which, we mostly accomplished, though for some reason I can’t figure out my microphone isn’t working. Huh.). And it’s GORGEOUS. It looks so official and important and professional. :) God, I guess I need to actually do some actual work now, huh? ;)

It’s beautiful. I am a little jealous, as my desk is currently my lap. I am in desparate need, but cannot figure out which one will suit my needs best. Enjoy!
