Okay, maybe a little late for a welcome, seeing as how I’m on the second trimester’s doorstep and all. But bear with me here. And we all know I’m paranoid. Right? I mean, how could you have missed it? Just select the “Pregnant?” category from the list on the sidebar there and you’ll see a bevy of posts hemming and haiwing and bitching and moaning about how nervous I am. So, that leads us today, and the arrival of my fetal doppler on my doorstep.
Yep, I did it. I rented a doppler. From these fabulous people, no less. My decision was based on two things; a) price and b) doppler unit. For the price, it was the best I could find. Well, if we want to be frank, my decision was soley based upon my neurotices. I knew the rest of this pregnancy would be one giant ulcer-in-the-making if I didn’t rent a doppler. So I was just short of ecstatic when the unit showed up just after lunchtime.
Of course, I had to try it out right away. What do I look like?
And it took me an age and a half to find the heartbeat, because I’m a doppler newbie and all that. But then I heard and, oh my, I felt fabulous. I waited to listen again until K got home, showed him how to work it. We didn’t manage to count the bpm, the little squirt kept running from the doppler. But there’s time for that.
So for those of you out there that are having a nervous pregnancy like I was, I highly suggest getting one of these. This is so worth $22 a month, it’s not even funny.
