Meh

Today was a “meh” sort of day.? Not a bad day… in fact, mostly a good day.? But I’m left here at the end of the day going, “Meh.”? Let’s take a look at what made up my day, shall we?

  • I had my first “baby” dream.? I can’t remember the bulk of it, surprise surprise.? But I do remember that it was 38 weeks, my doctor was there (but not K, surprisingly) and I’m pretty sure I had a c-section (but I don’t recall it).? Interestingly enough, at first they said the baby was a girl.? But when I saw the baby it was a) a boy and b) at least a few days old and c) hispanic.? Very strange.? But I wasn’t wanting to protest too much because HECK, I’m due a baby darnit and I’m having a baby.? Plus, he was awful cute. :)? Bizarre, huh?
  • Worked my buns off for a large portion of the morning.
  • Went to have lunch with K and H at a local Carrows.? Despite being seriously tempted by all their nummy looking shrimp dishes, I settled on a cheeseburger because that’s the Craving ‘o the Week.
  • H and I went to the movie theater to see “Curious George”.? Very cute, of course, and funny in parts but I was having a hard time staying awake after a point.? Maybe it’s just the pregnant/sleepy girl thing going on.
  • Nearly forgot to mention the email I got from one of the BlogHer ‘06 conference gals this morning.? They’re interested in me helping/mentoring during two of the sessions on day one of the conference!? Me!? That’s awesome!
  • Yeah, there’s totally no question about me going to the conference, but I think we knew that already.
  • We had “squad practice” this evening.? It’s a Halo PC thing.? All you need know is we were practicing for a scrimmage with another squad tomorrow morning and that we were getting our arses beat.? Humiliating.? Tomorrow should be a blast.
  • DURING this practice, H had been out in the backyard playing.? I told him to come in in a few minutes.? Well, apparently he saw a spider on the curtains so he didn’t want to come in that way so he went out the gate into the FRONT YARD.? And of course, closed the gate behind him.? And of course, the front door is locked as it always is all day, every day.? And me?? Upstairs doing my practice with my headset on.? You see where this is going?? Our lovely neighbor across the street spotted him and as she had a key to the house, let him in.? At this point, I did hear voices so I went to investigate.? MOR. TI. FIED.?? “Yes, I’m sorry I didn’t realize my six-year old was outside, desperate to get in and couldn’t because I was upstairs playing a video game with a bunch of other yahoos.”? Someone just call CPS right now.
  • Needless to say, my son knows he’s never to go into the front yard without an adult present.? I simply had to remind him of this rule, since apparently he’d just momentarily forgotten it.? So the lesson is?? Make sure the boy is inside and within sight when I plan to zone out on the computer.? :P
  • Result?? I have a headache.? Again.? Like the third one this week. Or maybe the fourth.
  • Know what else I have?? Another UTI.? Yep, got the call from the doc’s office today.? Nice, huh?? Somehow, I just knew.? So, I’m off to the store to pick up my prescription.? Again.? Anyone want to place bets on how many more UTI’s I’ll have before this is said and done?
