So March *desperately* tried to do me in, today, on it’s last day of influence.? But alas, I am a strong grasshopper now and resistant to it’s machinations.
I woke up and after checking email went to post something on my site.? My site was *poof*.? Something about a screwy database connection.? Interesting, thought I.? So I logged into my CPanel and went to my MySQL Databases to see what was the hap.
The hap was?? NO DATABASES.? What should have been upwards of 40 databases was completely gone.? There was a little part of me that wanted to pee my pants and then go back to bed.? Ah, but cooler heads prevailed!? I shot off an email to my web host support staff that went something like, “Ohgodohgodohgod!? Help me!”? Less than five minutes later I got a response back saying “We restarted MySQL and everything is fine now.? If it ever happens again, let us know.”
The clouds parted and the angels sang.? And once again?? I was very happy that my web host is HostGator.? Because they RAWK. ??
Yep, it’s that time again!? Time for a new renter!
This week brings us “Just Expressing Myself“.? This gal hails from New York City, and has a lot to talk about!? A lot of interesting observations from the city, and commentary on current events, and so so much more.? Literally, I could spend the rest of the day just reading her site and following her plethora of links.
So please stop by her site, have a read (or two or three) and leave a comment.? Tell her I sent ya!
Today, I learned of (hopefully) March’s last blow.? And it’s a doozy.? One of our own in the infertility blogosphere, has recieved the final blow.
I met Julianna when I was just staring out with my Lilac Pixels blog design business.? If she wasn’t the first to approach me for work, she was up there.? But I say she was the first.? And I’ve been following her story ever since then.? I’m not going to go into details; if you want to find out, visit her site, read her archives and maybe leave her a nice comment.
But I will tell you she was dealt a harsh blow today.? And I ache for her… so many people wanted the best for this lady, wanted to see her get her dream.? Her hopes of having a baby have been, for the most part, shattered.? And it’s not fair.? It’s not right.? But there it is.
Julianna, I’m so so sorry.
Finally, Pill Debacle ‘06 is OVER. Just minutes before 5pm this evening I was notified by a nurse at my doctor’s office that indeed my lab results had been reviewed, it was determined my old dosage was doing just fine and a new prescription refill was called into the pharmacy.
Hallelujah!!
So now I’m bad to my medicated self. I nearly kissed the pharmacist when I picked them up tonight, I was so glad. And I have three months worth of refills left. Technically enough to see me through the rest of my pregnancy. Though soon as I see my OB on the 13th I’m asking her to take over Thyroid Watch for the rest of the pregnancy. Please, LORD, give me someone else!
The Saga Continues…
So by yesterday, K and I’s collective patience regarding the whole prescripion fiasco was spent.? K called them around noon and lo and behold, I actually got a call BACK an hour later!? She said that my doctor was out that day (of course) but that she’d have one of her peers look over the lab results and they’d call in the prescription to my pharmacy.? Fabulous!? Several hours later, I get a call from another nurse asking if I’d gotten a call back yet.? Uh… yeah I had.? I explained that the nurse was going to show my results to another doctor.? This nurse said then that they’d call me on the results of that later on that day.? Ooookay.? But since I didn’t get another call that day, I assumed the first call had been correct and my prescription had been called in.
I sent K to get the prescription.? The roads were nasty and snowy and I was entertaining in-laws back at home.? Poor K gets there and guess what?? No prescription!? He says he had a panic attack; he was seriously afraid to come home without any pills.? The nice lady at the pharmacy took pity on him and gave him two pills to tide us over.? Hopefully, it won’t take more than two days to get this mess straightened out.? :dry
