My new best friend

by Marilyn on March 1, 2006

My new best friendI have a new love in the soda world. I’m so so sorry, Diet Rite Tangerine. You were so good to me for so long. In you, I finally found a soda that I could really love. That I could drink every day and not get tired of. It was crisp and had a good flavor, yet no super-sweet aftertaste that I can’t STAND in other sodas. And unlike most diet sodas, it didn’t have aspartame which I abhor. It had no sugar, no calories, no caffeine… It was perfect.

But today, I found a new love. Slice “One” Grape. No because I’m particularly fond of the Pepsi corporation (believe me, I’m actually kind of ashamed). But simply because it’s “grape”. Oh, Diet Rite. If you had only offered a grape flavor! But all there was was the Red Raspberry, which I never cared for, or the Strawberry-Kiwi, which I objected to because I have kiwi issues and cola. Of course, you offer other flavors, such as Golden Peach, Black Cherry and…. White Grape. Me? I’ve never laid eyes on any of these flavors sad to say. For I’m sure I would have adored “White Grape”. Heck, maybe even “Black Cherry”. But Tangerine was my best bet and it was mighty tasty.

But Slice “One” seemed to offer what I wanted. And folks? It’s fantastic. All I could have dreamed of and more. The crisp, non-aftertaste sensation I like and the grape flavor I *love*.

I love Diet Rite. But it just can’t compete with grape. I am a grape fiend.

March Afoot

by Marilyn on March 1, 2006

Wow, I can’t believe it’s March already. The time is really flying. I wouldn’t have expected it, being February was H’s month off school. I expected time to go a lot slower, somehow. Thankfully, it didn’t.

But now we’re at March. And it’s no small secret how I feel about the month. The short of it is: Not good. March and I have this thing between us. It’s not real pretty. I don’t particularly like it and it definitely doesn’t care for me. I could go on and on about the hows, whys, wheres and such. But that horse has been beat dead before and I’m not going into it.

I woke up this morning with a nagging disconcerted feeling. I finally realized it was because it was MARCH. But this year, I’m hoping for a blessedly uneventful month. Nay, a GOOD month. After all, I have the ultrasound next week. And Harry’s going back to school. And I’m sure there’s more I just haven’t thought of yet. So lets hear it for a happy month!

Please??
