So far (knock on wood), March hasn’t been evil to us.? We’re lucky.? Because I know so many other people to whom this March has not been kind.? Don’t tell me it’s superstition… bad news news seems to flow from this month for some ungodly reason.? My mom says a friend of her mother’s used to always say, “If I live through March, I’ll make it the rest of the year.”? There’s some truth to that, I think.? Mostly the truth that says March is a cranky bitch.? Let’s look at some of the evidence, shall we?
- Dana Reeve died at a young age of lung cancer, leaving her 14-year old son orphaned
- K’s coworker lost her mother to cancer
- A dear online friend of mine lost a long-time friend to, again, cancer, leaving behind a wife and two little children
- Another dear online friend’s toddler son fell down the stairs and did a HUGE number on his teeth.? This has been so hard for her.
- My husband’s second cousin died suddenly.? Not sure why, but the guess is heart attack.
Now that’s just this year.? And just since the beginning of the month.? And I’m not entirely sure I didn’t leave SOMETHING out.? And?? The month isn’t over yet.
I’m not fond of March.
This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
