My son is having a sleepover tomorrow night.? This is the first time we’ve done this and I’m more than a little nervous about it.? I’m sort of homebody myself, and even worse, I like to be home ALONE.? With my family, of course.? But having other people over, even if it’s another six-year old, sorta tramples on my comfort zone.
This means there’ll need to be some cleaning done, though I’m feeling a little snarky about it.? It’s not MY friend coming over.? *I’m* not the one who messed up his bedroom or the loft.? *I’m* not the one who has been neglectful about the cat boxes that are now threatening to kill us all.? I may have contributed to the kitchen mess, and I could be coerced into maybe vacuuming the living room.? But that’s the extent of it.
So here’s my question: What do I do to entertain this kid?? What I know of him, he’s a lot more high energy than my son.? Which will, by proxy, make my son more high energy.? I’m thinking a trip to the park maybe, and we’ll take them to Blockbuster to pick out an Xbox game they can play together. I’m also thinking maybe dinner at Chuck E. Cheese.? I know, I know… but I’m thinking I can kill two birds with one stone here.? Feed them kid-friendly pizza and let them run around like maniacs and burn off energy all at once.? And my mom had a great suggestion, set them up in sleeping bags in the loft and put a movie in the DVD player.? Hopefully, they’ll doze off while watching.? At least more likely than if we were to put them in a room, turn off the lights, and tell them to go to sleep.
So what do you all think?? Any ideas, suggestions, experience to share?? Let me know! HELP!

My best advice would be to wear them out! Also, make certain rooms/areas of the house off limits. It helps to contain the mess and gives you a place to go when you need a time out.
Not that you will.
