For once, March kept it’s grimy hands off me. I had a pretty good month, as did my most immediate family. We were lucky. This year, at least. I know so many people who weren’t. People whom I didn’t even mention in this blog. It staggers the mind and pains the heart, to say the least. Truly. And this song has been playing on the radio a lot lately… every time I hear it, it makes me smile. Sure, it’s singing about a bad day someone had (or at least I’m pretty sure it is, that *is* the name of the song, after all) but it has this upbeat sound… as if it’s not the end of the world. There’s another morning dawning. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me seeing hope where it’s not meant to be seen. But if maybe you can see some hope for a brighter tomorrow from this song, then I guess that’s what matters, right?
Bad Day by Daniel Powter
Where is the moment we need at the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion’s gone away
And I don’t need no carryin’ onYou stand in the line just to hit a new low
You’re faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life’s been way off line
You’re falling to pieces everytime
And I don’t need no carryin’ onCause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad dayWell you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don’t need no carryin’ onYou had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day(Oh.. Holiday..)
Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I’m not wrong(yeah…)
So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lostCause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You’ve seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
I am the reason there *is* an April Fools Day.? I’m sure of it.? At least, people like me are the reason this silly “holiday” exists.? Why?
I’m sooooo gullible.
I have absolutely no bullshit detector.? If someone were to tell me that Tom Cruise was just this morning abducted by aliens, I would believe it.? Much less the more obscure, less obvious deceptions.? And apparently I can go quite easily from reading one such “joke”, buy it, learn it’s fake, vent and rage about being fooled and open up another page and HAVE THE SAME THING HAPPEN AGAIN.
Does this mean I’m stupid or something?? Cuz I’m really starting to wonder.
