Questions aimed at me regarding this baby’s particular “flavor” are getting more heated.? “Do you know the gender?” “Have you found out yet?”? “When’s your next appointment?” “You’re not going to do the ’surprise’ thing, are you?”? “You better email me the INSTANT you find out!”? The sheer *pressure* of this whole thing is weighing down on me.? You have no idea how much I wish this child had just cooperated back at 19 weeks like a good baby.
I’ve had a good number of people take one look at me and say, “Oh, you’re having a girl.”? As if it’s a matter of common knowledge.? Apparently this is due to how I’m carrying, the distribution of weight and lack thereof in my face, the fact I’m currently going insane for strawberries… Frankly?? I don’t know WHAT to think.? When I’m casually talking about the baby, I always say “he” or “him”.? However, when I picture the baby, I picture a girl.? So I think that says I haven’t the foggiest idea.
Honestly?? I’ll be happy with whatever I’m lucky enough to get.? A boy would be so sweet, and I would know (roughly) what to expect.? A girl would be a change, and potentially a lot of fun to buy for.? So I can’t really say I’m “hoping” for any one gender, but rather, hoping I can simply FIND OUT.? Because this is getting silly.? And I’m scared to death we’re going to have to have a delivery room surprise.? The HORROR.
This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
