Seeing as how this is my 3rd/4th pregnancy (I’m never sure whether or not to include Shmear in my pregnancy statistics), you would think I’d have seen it all, symptom-wise.? Apparently?? That’s a load of bullcrap and there is still stuff out there to confuse the heck out of me.? This pregnancy, I have the face of a fourteen year old (and no, I don’t mean all nubile, firm, rosy and wrinkle-free).? I have ZITS people.? And whiteheads and blackheads and pimples… :sick? Seriously, I haven’t had skin this bad since I was a teenager.? And even then, I didn’t ever really have it that bad.? Of course, back then I was on my parent’s health insurance and was able to visit a dermotologist at my slightest whim and they prescribed Retin-A for me which did a fantastic job of nuking any potential blemish.? Now?? I’m just armed with a slight recollection of those days of yore and a little tube of salycic acid acne treatment.? Which these blemishes have just snorted in the face of.
Oh, I can get the zits to go away.? But they have already told their friends.? And all the scrubbing and medicating and squeezing, etc and so on doesn’t seem to stem the flow one bit.? Nope.? I’m the Breakout Queen right now.? WHY?? I mean, I haven’t had this any of the other pregnancies. What is causing it now?? It HAS to be the pregnancy because what the heck else?? And I had it bad during the first trimester, but it sorta slacked off during the second trimester.? So I thought I was home free.? Nope.? I’ve been in the third trimester barely a week and Zit & Co. are back with reinforcements.? AUGH!? Has anyone else had this?? Please tell me and let me know I’m not alone nor am I a monstrous freak!

This is me. I'm a thirtysomething stay at home mom to three kids. For years I was a stay at home mom to one kid and trying very hard to have more. It took a LONG time (ie: 6 1/2 years), but finally Liam arrived and charmed us with his blue eyes and ginormous, round head. Then we got a shock: I was pregnant again and this time it was a GIRL. Our hearts and home are full at last and now that we're done having babies, we get to relax (snort) and watch them grow (not too fast now, you hear?).
