Burgers of the World

We ate out at Burger King today…for maybe the first time in *years*. And I’m not exaggerating. Generally if we go out for fast food burgers we go to either McDonald’s (if H has won his choice) or Jack in the Box (if K and I prevail). It was kind of a refreshing change of pace and K and I really enjoyed our Whopper Jr’s. But the place was all but deserted. And no one else I know ever eats there. Which prompted this conversation:

Me: Burger King totally lost the “Burger Wars”, didn’t it?
K: Oh, of course.
Me: Because coming in here brings me to mind of visiting Germany just after World War II. A former super-power who has been sufficiently neutered.
K: You’re right. This is the Germany of the burger joints. And you know when you walk into Wendy’s? And everything is like a regular fast food place but just not right? There’s just something eerily wrong there.
Me: It’s the square burgers.
K: Well, Wendy’s is totally Canada.
Me: How about Jack in the Box?
K: Hmm. It’s kind of superior.
Me: But yet sorta cool and accomodating.
K: Britain. Jack in the Box is Britain. It holds it’s own with the big boys.
Me: I can agree with that. Oooh wait. What about In n’ Out?
K: Good one. Let’s see…
Me: It’s like the coolest of the cool, but hard to find and get to. Everyone wants to go there, but few can survive the journey (or the crowds). Plus, compared to the big boys, it’s a pretty small franchise. Oh! I know! New Zealand!
K: You’re right. In n’ Out is totally New Zealand.

You guys crack me up. The country/fast food joint correlation is too hilarious.

we like burger king a lot better than mcdonald’s, especially the fries.

Pity we don’t actually HAVE In n’ Out.

We have, I think, 5 Burger King places. 1 Wendy’s. No Jack-in-the-box. Mc Donlad’s bought out all the local burger places.

    It sucks.

    Too funny though.
