Today is my dear husband’s 36th birthday.? Does that even seem possible? I don’t know about him, but I don’t think either one of us could be that old (uh… not that 36 is old mind you… just that.. uh.? Yeah.).? I’ve tried to make today as fun for him as I can, given that my discomfort grows with each passing day and my tolerance for putting forth any sort of effort is pretty low.? I baked a cake yesterday (if you recall), and that’s pretty impressive, considering.? I’m surprised I didn’t just give it up and go to Smith’s and buy one.?

We started out the day, showering him with gifts. :)? Seeing as I’ve had much trouble in the gift ordering department as of late, I’m impressed that I had any gifts for him at all.? I gave him the new Dixie Chick’s cd, which he really wanted.? And Harry gave him a framed picture he drew in kindergarten.? A picture, that I’ll admit, is pretty darned good.? Kile’s very excited to hang it in his office with pride.? I also got him a gaming keyboard to play Halo on.? Yeah, nothing like encouraging that addiction, right?? ;)? He’s earned it.

Then, because I wasn’t about to try to cook breakfast, we went out to Mimi’s to eat.? Which is always a great choice for breakfast.? I ordered the Triple Berry Stuffed French Toast which was about 2/3 more food than I could ever hope to eat.? But I did my best.? Kile got the crab and avocado omelete, which he said was delicious.? Both our meals came with fresh squeezed orange juice so all in all, very reasonable for all that you get.? I just felt so bad not being able to eat all of mine.? It was SO good though.

After that we went to go see “Cars” at the theater.? This is the second year in a row that Kile has selected an animated film for his birthday movie… but so be it.? We knew we couldn’t deny Harry this one this weekend either.? And it was awfully cute.? I’m not sure which I liked better, “Over the Hedge” or “Cars”, but I’d say Pixar lived up to their promise well and good.? :)? We got the van washed after that and then came on home.? Later this evening, we’re going over to a friend’s house for dinner and we’ll do the “cake thing” there.

Thirty-six.? I wish I could say they’d all been good years to him, but they haven’t.? But here’s to hoping that this year is one of the best yet.? He’s earned that too.? Love you, sweetheart!
