I’m not one of the “discontents”, at least not yet, when it comes to “Lost”. I still love the show, and look forward to watching it each week, seeing how the plot is advanced, etc and so forth. I’m a little perplexed by some of the changes (such as the unwise addition of annoying Nikki and Paulo), but am enjoying the closer look at the Others’ camp. All that said? “Lost” nearly gave me a heart attack last night for two very different reasons.
Firstly? No one told me someone was going to die. So I was VERY surprised by the death of Eko. And not entirely happy because a) Eko is cool and I didn’t feel his story was over yet and b) doesn’t this only leave like ONE Tailie left? What about that church that Eko owed Yemi? Why the heck would Lost-zilla want to kill Eko? What’s with the whole “You’re all next” thing? Cuz if Locke, Desmond or Sayid die, I’m gonna be plenty pissed. Charlie on the other hand… 
Secondly; don’t think I didn’t catch the whole promo at the end that said, “The Fall season finale”. Which, if you rely on watching this show every week, doesn’t sound very encouraging. And it’s as bad as I thought… No more “Lost” after next week until FEBRUARY 7th. :blink I was getting suspicious when those commercials for “Daybreak” said it was starting two weeks from last night and in “Lost’s” time-slot. And now? 13 weeks without “Lost”. Not. Happy.
Now if “Heroes” disappears for weeks on end, I’m gonna strangle myself with the DVR wire.

I am SO with you. I had *no idea* someone was going to die. And why Eko? Why not Charlie? Why insipid new people?
And why aren’t you even discussing Juliet?
About the short season - I think there were production problems (weather? I forgot). So hopefully this whole split season is a one time deal. I hope.

I don’t watch lost, but my family does and they were just as surprised that he died. This week was the first episode that I watched. I truly was “lost”. I just heard about the nablopomo and I am going to do my darndest to post every day, too:)

13 weeks? You’ve got to be kidding. How dare they? I thought after last year, they were going to do the run up to Christmas or something, then take a month off????
I was sort of disappointed that Ecco died too.

I haven’t seen the episode, but I am terrible about spoilers so I had to go and look it up and I heard that Eko died. I think it’s interesting that at least 3 of the characters they’ve killed off (Ana-Lucia, the blonde chick, and Eko) were actors who’d gotten in trouble with the law in Hawaii. I don’t know if that’s just a coincidence, but if I were a Lost cast member I’d be watching my step.
