I went grocery shopping today. I know!? I’ll give ya’ll a minute to digest that particular nugget of information.

Ready? Okay, we’ll move on.
See, Harry is still off school (goes back on Monday) so I had him along.? PLUS, the Wee Wonder himself.? I was doing the shopping with a friend, true enough, but this was the first time I’d tried this particular maneuver with out Kile in tow.? More specifically?? It’s the first time I’ve tried the grocery shopping by myself in MONTHS.? See, our “beginning of the month” shopping trip is the stuff of legends.? Kile gets paid once a month so its our “stock up” trip.? We buy the bulk of our groceries for the entire month in that one trip.? So it tends to be something of a shopping marathon.
Luckily, it couldn’t have gone easier.? Sure, about halfway through Harry became certain he was in danger of dying of thirst before our very eyes.? And I wasn’t sure if I was going to have to build an ark to get home in, it was raining so much. But Liam slept pretty much the entire time and no time was spent dawdling whatsoever.? I was efficient as all get out.? I’d forgotten how fast I could go by myself.? Even by myself with two kids. ? Kile tends to be the sort that has to sit and stare at the different items on the shelf to decide which to get.? Which, of course, takes a lot of time.? So that was nice.? And other than getting a little damp on the way home (a little?!), the rain didn’t hurt anything.? I may have even helped wash off our van a little which has been HORRIBLY neglected since Liam was born.
So now I’m chilling with my feet up, a nice cold soda in my hand and my laptop at my finger tips, “Finding Nemo” playing on the DVD player.? My reward for a job well done.
